So I come on here when I’ve had a wee drink, like I’m pretty sure a lot of other people. The thing I don’t get is why people don’t just chat away together. If our life’s where perfect we wouldn’t have felt a need for fab. Most people are just trying get through and it’s good if we can help each other.

True, it's good to chat, but I don't think anyone should look for help for a serious issue here necessarily. I was once told in a time of major crisis, and it's stuck with me, "two drowning people can't save each other".

Chatting is good, but some of the so called "advice" I've seen bandied about is reckless to the point of dangerous. Just my view...

No advice required, my point is just a wee chat sometimes. I get the feeling on here a lot of people don’t want to show or say too much.

I have friends that I can message, just for a chat. I suppose it all depends what you're looking for. I always question the ulterior motive of someone who "just wants to chat". I don't have a lot of free time, so it's VERY rare that I would ever commit to just a chat xx

The people I spoke to when I joined aren’t here now. I just miss not communicating in real life stuck in the house, when I joined here you could have a laugh now it’s very busy so it’s less personal I suppose

Scottish Mrs is probably right with her reply with ratio of ladies to guys they certainly can be more selective in chat partners . I find being active on forums allows me a wide range of folk I can chat with .

I agree with ScottishMrs, if I just want a chat then I generally do so with real world friends via messaging apps.

I'll sometimes come on here and have a laugh on the forums or chat with a few fabbers I've met.

Maybe try going in the chat rooms OP?

I chat to alot on here but I'd tend to message my real life friends for just a chat for some fab is the only friends they seem to have.

Which is a bit sad/worrying.

I agree with this, I’m not into long drawn out chats if I have no intention of ever meeting the person, nor will I ever “say too much” to random people on a swinging site.
