On International Women’s Day, who’s the most inspiring woman to you??? In real life my Mother who is the most gentle yet strongest of people. In history Maya Angelou who is both an outstanding survivor of life and a fierce fighter for all kinds of equality.

My mother was the strongest, most determined person I've ever known. Tiny in stature but huge in presence. We butted heads often and rarely shared the same viewpoint but I loved and admired her none the less. She is a huge loss to me. More than I could ever have thought.

I also have a great admiration for Frida Khalo who battled against so much physical and emotional pain but lives on through her amazing art.

Sounds like both ladies have much in common. Frida had an astounding and very original style xxx

My gran was and still is.

Kindness, courage, compassion, and a way of making a difference to everyone she met.

She was my idol, my hero and I miss her every day.

If I can be half the woman she was, I'm doing ok.
