Chief Secretary to the Treasury Steve Barclay, said communities in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will now all benefit from at least £800million of investment by the UK Government. Councils will be given the money by the UK Government which will be used for town centre and high street regeneration and local transport schemes, as well as cultural and heritage projects which will be delivered for the benefit of local people.

It comes as the nationalists were accused of betraying local services after rejecting a Scottish Conservative demand for fairer funding of Scotland’s councils.

Problem is the money has just bypassed the corrupt central government and went straight to the even more corrupt local government and councillors so the regeneration of the local high street and community will be yet another half arsed effort while the bigwigs line their pockets.

Council budgets were only going up by 1 percent in 2021/22, compared to the Scottish Government receiving a 9 percent uplift.

Alex Salmond has accused Nicola Sturgeon of breaking the ministerial code and misleading parliament.

He believes senior people around Scotland's first minister were part of a malicious attempt to have him removed from public life and ultimately jailed.

Ms Sturgeon has dismissed the claims and said he has no evidence.

The crisis could have significant implications for Scottish politics.

Same old nonsense. Maybe if the current administration wasn't so corrupt and inefficient then there would be no need to go direct.

Sturgeon is sitting on £100 million that was sent to remove flammable cladding and hasn't spent a penny. They were sent £200 million for Brexit preparations and didn't spend that either. Other cash sent and not given out to businesses for Covid relief. It's not a power grab but common sense when dealing with Sturgeon and her bunch of incompetents.

Of course they have...look at the state of the roads, particularly in glasgow, full of pothole including on motorway which is dangerous.

That big hospital has had 2 inquires into ventilation & water contamination pre-covid.

She covered up the Nike Covid outbreak last feb...don't forget...she knew!

her nightingale in glasgow....NEVER used until recently, it was supposed to be for outpatients...instead all other medical services have fell by the whey side.

Never mind what the hell she is covering up in th salmond case...soething she doesn't want out in an election & I doubt Salmond will run since he hasn't announced...or that might be the plan entirely, push nikkki out to get back in..just in time for indy ref 2.

she's literally try using emergency covid laws to try show Boris who wears the trousers, whilst telling us she's doing it for us.

Plus if Boris revokes Cobra (emergency state & it's laws) in June/July all 4 nations have to as well or they are in open rebellion with the crown. We many have devolution but the UK Gov & Laws stand above all the rest.

that there I know is in motion in Glasgow because my friend is in one of these & they are all to be rehoused. (certainly the council ones)

Some are under evaluation as to if they can remove t cheaper or if its cheaper to rebuild.

they are actually moving quickly (for the council) but only really because they have knowingly allowed overcrowding and refused to move folk for so long & that would just be a disaster PR wise...just like grenfell if not worse.

When you read about some of the financial irregularities, dodgy accounting, background chaos, plus all the coverups of late its obvious the snp are in their death throws. Their membership are leaving and not renewing their fees a number of wealthy backers are now not involved and theres great suspicion that money is being syphoned off for 'campaigning' when she has decried theres to be no campaigning in the run up to the election, despite her being on tv all bloody day talking pish. The list of snp fuckups is horrenfous thats just the stuff we know about.

Unfortunately things are not bad enough yet for a great many of their voters to see mess theyve created by voting for these clowns.. What (unfortunately) needs to happen is for swathes of their voters to be hit in the pocket directly due to some other chaotic policy gone wrong. Snp are socialist at heart and everybody knows socialism has never worked and will never work, it goes against the basic human need to better oneself and feel the benefits of your hard work driving aspiration in others. Country needs rid of the snp. Independence would be absolutely, guaranteed to be a disaster, and what makes me angry is the snp know it, a good lot of their voters know it and they DONT CARE. That is truely disgusting in my view. Scotlands shame.

The books at Holyrood need to be audited. There seems to be about £3 billion unaccounted for which presumably is being hidden in a secret war chest for the next round of the constitutional debate and a possible illegal referendum.

The SNP were given £100 million a year ago to help remove flamable cladding, they've not spent a penny. They were given £200 million for Brexit preparations and didn't spent that either. Money for covid relief has been "allocated" but not actually be given to the people who need it.

The U.K. Government allocated £1b for removal of dangerous cladding, of which Scotland received £97M in March 2020. Work then started to assess buildings and involve contractors/builders like Wimpey. Building sites have been closed for several months.

Westminster has only allocated funds to 100 buildings, out of requests from more than 2000. The rest didn’t meet their criteria.

There is now further funding announced.

And please please please explain why Brexit is such a success. He'll we might even starve the Irish now as supermarkets can't meet the paperwork dates set by this fantastic piece of legislation.

The snp think things will be Rosie with all their pathetic wind turbines covering and spoiling the scenery,

they do not realise that a combination of all is required to keep a country running,

.

that is why the Conservatives invested highly in;

1; Offshore Wind Farms

2; Wave energy capture

3; Hydrogen power plants

4; Increasing North Sea Oil & Gas Exploration & Production

5; Building 8 Nuclear Power Plants for the feature, one of which was supposed to be planned for Scotland and Nicola Sturgeon refuses to have it as she does not care about future requirements as she wont be here.

6; Carbon Capture

And to protect all this the Conservatives are increasing the defence budget to a Minimum of 2% but investing far higher.
