He was 100. I'm pretty sure nature got him. Covid didn't help mind you.

He had pneumonia and due to other meds couldn’t have the vaccine. Sadly the older you are the more vulnerable you are to many things.

That man was a hero in the true sense of the word.

His last year was an amazing one and he certainly left his mark on the world.

Edinburgh.

Just saw his clip of him on Blankety blank in the 80’s with Wogan. Brilliant.

Yes and strangely now the media don't want it mentioned, same media that say he died of covid 19 when he didn't.

It's been kept very quiet by the media, but his family took him to Bermuda in December. And then a couple of weeks later he has Covid???

Stone cold silence indeed

Exactly, he enjoyed his last holiday which was on his bucket list. He and his family done everything right and took every precaution, plenty of test etc. Why try and destroy him and justify his death from covid. He was 100 and had been suffering from pneumonia. He died after testing positive which is different from dieing from.

He was an old fashioned gent.

Oozed class, had a great innings and his family can be immensely proud

He was full of Yorkshire grit and wit...

An inspirational gent during these dark times....full of old time values that certain preacher in london should take a leaf from..

Personally admired him for not revealing the conversation with HEr Majesty when knighted..

Honouring the tradition conversations with her are private..

Shame Yorkshire tea couldn't incorporate him in an ad...

You know what i reckon even if he knew he was going to get covid going abroad im sure he would have went anyway.

Last throw of the dice and all that.

He was probably stock at home for the past 10 years in lockdown long before the rest of us.

Skickening all the internet trolls though. Thats just not right.

He was already in hospital very ill with pneumonia when he picked up covid. You can’t have the jag when you’re ill.

He won’t be listed as dying from covid. He will be listed as dying with covid, because that’s just fact, he did. In the same way my late husband’s diabetes was noted on his death certificate even though he died of cancer. It’s standard procedure to list known health issues on a death certificate (asthma will be on mine even if I get hit by a bus).
