Advanced Search mileages.

The 'Advanced Search' facility has been (allegedly) "improved" by selection on the distance from one's location. I'm in central Edinburgh (registered as 'EH1'), but find the search gives contacts in places like Bathgate or Livingston as being, it claims, "within 5 miles" - (which is nonsense, as 5 miles only gets to the outskirts of Edinburgh). Am I alone in noticing anomalies in the distances the Advanced Search system comes up with ?

I know what you are talking about from mines to Aberdeen is 100s a miles but there's one person who comes up saying 5 miles away lol

Remember that this is searching based on the postcode (which you can't see) that the user has entered. It may not necessarily tally with the location that they've given. Someone who lives in Livingston may have said they live in Bathgate (or possibly Edinburgh) but given their real postcode. Given that it's only the first part of the postcode e.g. EH1, that can cover quite a large area, in rural locations!
