Well we are now into a new year and i assume we are all looking forward to it being better than the 1 we just left .

But who truly believes it will be a quick return to the old norm, personnally i think we will still have covid well into 2021 so might not be as good a year as we all hope for

it will never be gone it will probably get to a manageable state this year.

My theories are we fuck about with mother nature's checks and balances and there will only ever be the one winner in that fight

Realistically it's going to take most of 2021 to get vaccinations all done, plus it's not gonna disappear quickly.

I've been self isolating since xmas day as tested positive. Its certainly made me put life into perspective and realise staying safe and not meeting is a small price to pay for your life.

Considering we are 1 day in, and a week into a country wide lockdown, and all I've heard about are the house parties everyone had last night and the plans for Sundays old firm game....

I'd say another year at least. Just wish people would be as serious with this as they were the first few weeks. But alas, I think I'm in the minority with my thinking here.

Lock the island. Force people to stay inside exect for medical and caring needs, a few weeks to a month would kill it. Implement the same measures other countries are using, 2 week lockdown for anyone entering the country.

Might be a rough month, but in the long run I think we would be much better off and things could quickly get back to "normal"

The UK population is just under 68 Million adults. The Government says they Hope to vaccinate 2 million a week so that is 285714 per week or just under 41000 per day working 7 days a week Whish means it takes 238 days just to give everyone the first of the two vaccinations they need That's with no time off for holidays ETC So by the time everyone in the UK has had their 2 vaccinations we will be in 2022

Isn't that the total population rather than just the adult population?

I agree people just have to bite the bullet and lock down. This never ending saga of fluctuating tiers levels areas is just pushing things further out. End of the summer in my opinion

And no I won’t be meeting until then (sorry to disappoint you filthy things

I think it's gonna be here for a long time. Different strains and the like similar to the flu that changes every year. I work in covid wards so well aware of how awful it can be. Saying that life has to go on to an extent, support those who want to shield and let the rest live their lives as they wish. Mental health is pretty important too x

you simply have no concept of what you are saying having been in a country for five months that combated covid very successfully you have very little idea what it causes.

Talk to folk in those country's that are almost under marshal law and you would soon change your mind covid May not be present but starvation inability to work minimum govt help the list goes on and you still won't be fully rid of the virus.

We simply have to move on as best we can our measures are completely pointless imo shut down everything but works and schools can't and won't stop a virus any interactions can and will cause spread so you either need to go whole hog or give advice and let the dice fall where they may we can't afford this 2 weeks on 2 weeks off stupidity imo
