So decided to go ahead order one this year anyway (with links) Even though I can't have family over to join me. Anyone else still partaking in steak pie this year, or maybe something different for new years day, maybe a quorn version, what's your plans for new years dinner. Just a little nosey I guess

We are having roast beef this year, mostly because I’ve made so many steak pies recently that I’m fed up of them!

Plus party food. A fuckload of party food.

I’ve just ordered a grazing box for Hogmanay that’s basically meats and cheese. I bloody love all that stuff. It’s for 2 but I’m planning on eating it all myself!

I like it in a wrap with salad. Alternatively have on top of your burger and serve with French fries. Delicious

Just have fun experimenting . The burger option is amazing and you can achieve the south of american style, or you can do traditional as in the full meal ... play around, you wont lose either way xx

Yep they do. Some even BOIL their links first to get most of the fat out before laying them on the top of the steak. Sounds scrummy, eh no? Lol

I’m still not convinced that sausages and steak go together in a pie! (Unless it’s a euphemism and then it’s right up my street! )

Actually bought them today. Just ones that were mashed already that go in the microwave. Saves washing pots

Steak pie should only have sausage in it if you are bulking it out to make it go further.

Only us and junior this year so no sausage in the steak pie here.

Think that's where adding sausages originated from days gone by .

my granny sometimes bulked it out with mince too to make it go further with the family .

I like sausages in mine so will be adding them lol

enjoy yours

This is a perennial discussion with my friends and in reality there is no right answer, as long as you enjoy it. ........ just don’t tell them I said that!
