I plan my day in advance and try to keep busy. It does not bother me being alone as long as my nearest and dearest are ok. I do however avoid facebook on Xmas day. This year my mum coming to stay for a couple of days so looking forward to it.x

I will spend about 3 hours with family, lunch then chill for an hour and by that point my nieces kids will be at each other’s throats and I will retreat to the peace and quiet of my house.

It’s the way I like it

Stuck in muscat, birthday, Christmas and NYE alone, as airport closed.

Stay safe all and make the very best of it

Unable to go and see my parents so I'm at home by myself this year. I did have someone in my bubble but he had to go down south last month. Xmas dinner and wine for me, I'll be fine

Love all my me time do as I please don't have to suffer others peculiarities talk to friends if and when I please.

Can honestly say no doom or gloom in being alone though I guess it comes down to whether your comfortable with yourself

Somewhere over there

Remember if you need to talk to someone; Samaritans are there 24/7 on 116 123 (free)

I’m aware of the Good Morning Service who phone regularly to check in on people.

Other ideas that’s helped when I’ve been alone to keep mind occupied;

Clean house/that drawer you meant to get round to/ the chair that has all your clothes dumped on it - you know the one!

Do the laundry (washing machine humming means there’s no silence in house)

Have a lazy bubble bath in the afternoon (why not?! )

Read the books you’ve been gifted/bought but didn’t have time.

Sort out clothes etc to donate when charity shops open.

Give your time to a local foodbank; or donate online if you can’t visit.

Drop a wee card to your neighbour for Christmas or pop one in the post for someone you’ve not connected with in a while.

Take up a new skill/hobby or get crafting and up cycle things!

Just know that there’s always someone to chat to; whether it’s here on fab or in the ‘real world’ and this year has been like no other, but we’ll get through it.

Love and hugs to everyone x

Millie x
