My local butchers is very particular about this.

He says it's only Lorne if it follows a certain recipe.

As such you can get Lorne, Square Sausage and Steak Slice from his shop. They're all the same shape, but slightly different colours and tastes.

Definitely no beans!

To be fair I’m happy with a whole packet of bacon on a roll. I don’t think a bacon roll is truly a bacon roll till you have to eat it over a sink

Colleagues told me that fried onions on a Lorne roll was great, so I tried it, and they were right!

None of the brown sauce rubbish they also mentioned though, tomato or GTFO

Yip that's dundee talk. Only a slicey when it's being cooked though. Not what you ask for in the butchers...

“Square” Sausage....but do you prefer a soft or crispy roll ?

"Is it.... Lorne? Square Sausage? Or Slicey?"

Depends on the quality of the sausage, simples

Cant be doing with supermarket square, has to be fresh from the butchers.

Links, I love a bit of Cumberland sausage.

Failing that the next best sausage is 2 in a MMF

In the butcher’s I order a full Lorne usually and at home there’s only two eat sausages so I don’t even have to ask.
