Kids are going to be off school for two weeks and we don’t want those little buggers running riot now in the general community so I reckon lock us all up for a few weeks till the animals can be put back into their cages during the day with the wardens watching over them

It might be a bit worse than just a Lockdown.

Apparently the list of considerations is avaliable on the Government website as it has to be kept public. I've not looked for it, but have spoken to a few people that have read it.

Yip i get the feeling its proper shut down for 2 weeks, old Jason boy said a 2 week shut down would buy them 28 days following that

Because we’ve got inbreads that don’t understand that when they visit their granny’s they’ve got to still maintain distancing and hygiene, these same inbreads also don’t get that they were limited in the amount of people they could have in their houses at anyone time.

If these idiots hadn’t behaved like utter cu=ts then maybe you could still visit granny.

haven’t thought of it this way but it is an accurate, but awful, description.

Also what message are they sending if the close pubs/restaurants/leisure facilities as well as severely restrict socialising with anyone but our own household but still tell us to keep working? That we are only good little droids that need to keep the money rolling in for the Richie riches? Forget enjoyment in life, your one purpose is to be an cog in the machine

It’s the restrictions on pubs/restaurants that are playing a part in numbers going up. If people want to meet in a bigger group then they won’t go to a pub as only so many can sit together whereas in a house they can get away with whoever they want, Jason Leitch has previously said that domestic interactions are playing a part in the rise. Closing pubs and restaurants is short sighted as not only will it cause more unemployment it will also push people to meet where they shouldn’t.

Plus the hospitality sector will have protocols in place to maintain social distancing when you are there. There is still a restriction of up to 6 people from no more than two households so it’s not likes it’s a free for all

A waste of time, effort, money & jobs. The virus won't somehow disappear in two weeks, I personally doubt that it will make the least bit of difference at all.

Spend the money on testing, ppe, additional nhs capacity... things that might actually help instead of wasting it in a politically motivated 'do something' move.

Typical Sturgeon not got a clue punish the majority due to the minority that bloke from labour made a valid point why not go after establishments that are breaking the rules.

At some point everyone will need to accept that we need to get on with life as this is impacting us all, you might not work in an industry that’s been directly affected heavily by the virus but sooner or later the affects will come to you; people in hospitality, tourism and the art that have lost their jobs won’t spend money if they don’t spend money sooner or later you’ll be facing the same uncertainty as they currently are.

Yeah i might get hammered but the covid is almost impossible to halt with it needing such a small particle to infect another person this is going to be a long drawn out affair with the path public health are taking and people and country is going to suffer.

so what do you suggest?

Everyone get on as normal let it spread like wildfire again and only the strongest survive.

Only go out when you really need too.limit the people you interact its not hard but obviously some would rather think of drinking and eating before their health?

Will they never learn? Lockdown, and the cases go down, release, and the cases go up.

This has to be managed, and lockdowns have now been proved not to work. The facts speak for themselves.

The economy is being run into the ground, diseases other than Covid, are going undiagnosed and untreated, and we can't keep things going as they are. Do we have a bottomless pit of money? There are thousands of folk going to die not from, but because of this emphasis on Covid.

15000 people die every winter from the flu, do we make a song and dance about that? No.

The politicians need to wake up, and query the science which at the moment is ruling this, because it's obviously flawed!!

Oh I don’t know maybe use the law to punish those not doing what their meant to be doing.

Going out for food and drinks will be helping peoples mental health so yeah people are putting their health first. Instead of forcing more restrictions on us she should be going to industries and ask how they can carrying on operating whilst keeping people safe.

She’s not tried to let people be adult about it she’s moved to goal posts and on a few occasions spat the dummy because other leaders have done things differently.

160000 deaths a year from cancer. 19000 deaths from beast from the East. Flu over 150000 deaths a year. No rush to cure these and ruin peoples lives and the economy in to the bargain! Covid19 is now 24th deadly virus in the world. Flu deaths world wide are worse. Test by the way, picks up all covid viruses. Not just 19.

Does Nicola truly think that kicking the can down the road for 2 weeks is gonna solve this or slow it down? Absolutely no chance. Paris having 40% ICU admission??? Pre Covid19, all scottish ICU admissions ran at a weekly average of 80%.

No bowel cancer screening available for over 50s for 7 months. Any Stage 4 patients identified now due to this shocking shut down are toast... which could have been prevented. Hospitals cleared to make way for Covid19 patients that never overwhelmed any EU Hospital anywhere! Clinics closed. NHS staff sent home early each day.

The professor leach who's never off the box is a dentist. Not a doctor. Never was never will be. He can stick his Harvard degree in community health. We'd be better off if he done an economics degree at LSE.

Today, a bad day. Blootering the economy and risking 65000 jobs in hospitality now is a disgrace. But an absolute quality day for burying text gate, salmomd inquiry, oh I forgot about that meeting gate, Derek MacKay gate, Margaret Ferrier gate and other no likey topics and fences!

People need to realise we are gonna have to live with this virus for a very, very long time.

My view is we will all get it sooner or later. Is just a matter of time. Not scaremongering, just a real life believe and grasp of reality. Masks won't save you. Its here and here to stay.

Look at the demographic of the upsurge in POS tests. Schools and Higher education back. Young people are more likely not to comply with rules as they see that the over 74 year old are most as risk. Lets fave it, when you're that age you feel bulletproof. Nothing van hurt you. Young people just want to be young and enjoy their freedom. Its a fact of life.

16 to 24 highest risk right now. To catch and also pass on.

I'd have more respect for government if they looked at these published facts and thought.... why don't we lock down the under 30s from all bars and restaurants for 2 weeks. It would make more sense. Because that is the demographic thats high and most at right now.

However, she won't because that's the snp new voter base. Same reason schools and unis still open. All about getting support for independence argument. Dont blame or punish tee kids coz we need their vote! Remember the LibDems? We will abolish student fees in England... boom... jump into bed with Torrie and do a 180.... Result.. they are finished! No one has forgotten what they did. Young people are amazing at remembering shit like that. Henxe it will never happen. Just bring the mature adults to heel and hopefully the young peeps follow.

Facts are out there peeps. Get open minded. Challenge what your getting fed on this by so called leaders.

Nightingale Hospitals? Does anyone actually think that the £38M SECC will open for its intended purpose?

Come November watch the absolute catastrophic job crash. Some reading this post will be binned and right now you don't even know it's coming.

We need leadership and economic control. Not spreading fear and uncertainty throughout the population. On a final note. History tells us that people living in fear will do anything they're told. Will accept anything they're told. Will never challenge the people in power and will be defeated at everything.

Just saying...

Sounds sensible and good read ??

Did you read to the end?

Its grim when you see the forecast for cancer and heart patients and the elderly.

I guess we have to stick with current guidelines

Any Stage 4 patients identified now due to this shocking shut down are toast... which could have been prevented. words. I have had a rant about just this in the CJs thread. People need to start looking out at the bigger picture. The media and those in power are using fear to drive people to focus on their own wee bubble. Protect those closest which of course is a natural instinct. There is more at play here though. We are not hearing about how people's lives are affected due to no treatment etc. Why? Because the media are not focusing on it. Just feeding us full of fear. Like you say, fear controls the masses. We need to learn to live with this now xxx

It’s worrying though that because so many people are obsessed with independence they’ll still vote for these muppets even after their incompetence has thrown thousands upon thousands of them on the scrap heap.

Block away but we are all entitled to our opinions and a good open debate is good.

Not sure if other partys in Scotland could have handled this situation better but they do seem to sit in the sidelines and not say much.

This has given me a insight into how nic would be if independent and i am not liking what i see.

The same as the SNP protest party in Westminster. Oppose everything and anything put forward without providing any clear insight into what they would do or suggest any alternatives other than give more money to Scotland.

Just a background character

Hilarious opinions from the fab experts as usual.

If yesterday's announcement came next week it would be 'NS/SNP useless cos they are just following Boris'

Announcement happens before Boris..., 'NS/SNP going too far and on on independence crusade...'

For anyone that’s interested, below is a link to the evidence paper on which the decision to bring in yesterday’s restrictions was apparently based.

You can make your mind up about whether or not the evidence is sufficient...

I think the answer is easy to come by without having to read

More cases are detected in the home than in pubs by a HUGE margin.

Stop people drinking and socialising in pubs, where will they go?

[does ‘Chewin the Fat ‘’euugghhh’’ noise]

They quite simply haven’t a clue!
