Same old guff

So I listened to wee Nics briefing today , same old guff she's been barking on about every day since March. I stopped listening and decided to do some dishes instead but I noticed something I hadn't noticed before, I could hear her podium pal doing her wee speech and although I couldn't hear what was said , the way she spoke in the style of a mother putting her chldren to bed and giving a bedtime story , I shit you not. Talk about jackanory , this woman was gifted as a story teller. Is that what we are reduced to now, being preached to like 5 year olds. ?

Ffs BBC you said you were only going to give them screen time when there was significantly new information.

And some people like to keep up to date with the current guidelines.

Interestingly, if memory serves me correct , it was yourself oldie, and bluebell who came on the forums months ago and openly bragged about ignoring the rules and sounded very pleased with yourselves about doing so too. So it comes as no surprise your comments here. Also, if I fancy coming on here to ramble then thats entirely my prerogative.

I instantly switch the telly off when she comes on, and I don't listen to the main news either. First it was the interminable rubbish about Brexit from May, and now it's the continual rubbish being spouted by both governments about Covid.

The whole thing is a complete and utter shambles; want a test, go to Stranraer, Carlisle or Belfast. Send for one, and wait for about 5 days for the result to be returned. Now there's a reported back log!

And just as the number of deaths is reckoned to be wrongly reported by at least a third, the hospital admissions in Scotland has been mis-reported and been reduced from 260odd to just 48!!!!

A shambles, I would say that that is putting it mildly!

It is the same old guff but regardless of your politics I'm not sure many politicians worldwide have pass marks on the virus( cue references to New Zealand). I'm no fan of our FM but if any leader of a party was honest (heaven forbid) they wouldn't want to be in power right now.

Its simple for me I take all the information available to me( paper, Internet, tv,radio) weigh it up and act on it much like everyone else does.

If you dont like listening to the advice being issued during the worst pandemic in our time may I suggest you just change channel, simples. Or on the other hand move to England where you will never see there leader on tv as he cant string a sentence together without stuttering and blundering his message.

Thank god the 3 devolved governments took there own decisions during this crisis and ignored Westminster.

Never been lectured to by a guy wearing lady pants before but this has been a strange fucking week!

If she began her daily sermon with “today the science tells us ...” she may have more credibility. Or even if she and the mad professor stopped being turned on by the celebrity and theatre of these briefings I may pay more attention.

But she forgets the key thing. She is the leader of a minority administration and what’s missing is the involvement of and engagement with others. That’s what is making it party political and she needs to realise this

‘What you forget’ is it’s debated and televised in Parliament, plenty ‘engagement’ of others. She’s the FM and doing a decent job with limited powers and has had a consistent message through all this.

Now, what’s happening over the border in Westminster. Let’s see. Perugia. FinCen. 50,000 cases of COVID a day by next month. Yep, typical Monday.

The problem with chaps such as yourself (you need to realise this) is you can’t stand her or the SNP so nothing they do will be right in your eyes. As for minority, let’s see what May brings shall we.

Accepts what, be specific . If you make a decent argument for independence I will stand beside you, but if you say we gotta have independence just so we can rule ourselves then make your case and show it can work. Show me how much it will cost me as a citizen of this independent country. Show me the facts and figures and if they stack up , I will stand beside you. Problem is your snp try to get by , by simply saying "ache it will be ok". Sorry that ain't good enough for me.

Your doing exactly what the snp constantly do, your pointing out everything that is wrong nowadays, but you've still not made ANY point as to how an independent Scotland would be better off to deal with these issues. You only see things one way, even your observations on me and my aparant hatred for Nicola, again blinkered, you've ignored the numerous times I've praised her and said I actually like her as a leader but I don't agree on some of her policies. But you say I hate her. ? Tale the independent blinkers off and weigh up what's best, don't think from your heart where it may affect your wealth and your children's wealth.

Quite frankly only the brain dead continue to support the SNP. I can't stand the woman, far far too much grand standing and virtue signalling, typical of leftist politics. Personally I'd remove the cameras from the commons and Holyrood. We get fed a constant stream of bloody politics these days and I don't think it is necessary or helps anybody's well being.

In my employment I work closely with both foodbanks and state benefits and have done for years

The Trussell food bank started up in 2000 and has been well used from that time and a lone parent does not live on £60 per week, a single person gets more than that in benefit(s)

Usual sort of retort from SNP voters .

It is heartening that nearly every stranger I've had reason to get onto the subject of politics with in three last while has certainly been of the opinion that the economics of an independent Scotland are disasterous. What is truely worrying is that still so many people refuse to see wood for the trees and continue to vote for separation and socialism. People are too proud to admit they backed the wrong party...

It’s also scary to see so many people blaming the conservatives and Boris for the student situation up here in Scotland. It has nothing to do with Boris or his party, it lies squarely at the SNP and Sturgeons door but they are too blinkered due to being brainwashed by the propaganda.
