"Sweden hasn't locked down hasn't worn masks and now looks like they have herd immunity. They lost somewhere in the region of 6,000 dead Economy untouched. So have they called it right while everyone else has called it wrong and will now be left-wing misery and destroyed economic prospects for at least ten years????" No. New Zealand called it right. They didn't damage their economy nor did they "take the hit" of thousands of deaths. How can it ever be right to let 6000 people die?

"Does Sweden and New Zealand not have their population spread out? Plus The loss of life is never a good thing but did we not lockdown so the NHS wasn't overwhelmed? " Yes it was to protect the NHS. The virus won’t go away until we have herd immunity or a vaccine so it looks like we are heading into winter with cases rising again and massive economic problems. We simply can’t afford another proper lockdown and it’s starting to show it was ineffective anyway as number rise again

"I am in no way an expert But we live on an island, if we had properly isolated imports and people coming and going we may have not been affected as badly as we were ![]() I'm the same. Surely if the airports etc were closed to all non residents at least, then the virus would hvve mad far less chanee to get into the country.

"I am in no way an expert But we live on an island, if we had properly isolated imports and people coming and going we may have not been affected as badly as we were ![]() The question is though - how long would we keep them closed? A few months? A year? Until a vaccine is made? Unfortunately we are an island that heavily depends on tourism to keep us going along with imports for many things ![]()

"There isn't anything, anywhere that suggests that there is such a thing as herd immunity for Covid-19, there is no scientific proof of anti bodies, we already have examples of people having the virus twice. Sweden's economy hasn't been as badly affected as the UK, but it has taken a hit - it's a global pandemic, and we live in a world with a globally interconnected economy, and as for prospects we were going to be fucked by Brexit anyway." Thank you for being a voice of sanity ![]()
