now my title is referring to the wink system on here as i find it something off a strange thing , you send a Wink usually to show interest in the profile and if the person checks out your profile but doesn't respond do you take that to mean there not interested or could it mean there waiting on you making the first move , or can sending a message later be seen as harrassing them because they never responded in the first place .

So whats others thoughts on this system

I've replied to winks and never heard back from the person. It's all down to luck on here.

my thoughts are if you really want to have contact with someone, message them instead of going round about the houses

A wink, to me, says "I like the look of you, but I lack the creativity to engage in a meaningful way".

Lazy.

Winks are fine imo. Not everyone has the time or energy to constantly construct messages to multiple users on the site for the majority of them to be ignored. I get that some check them and some don't.

I've responded to winks by following up with a message and I also use them frequently.

Said it before if I was a guy I'd wink rather than send loads of messages.

If i receive a wink im interested in..

Il wink back or message a thanks for the wink.

If not I dont respond and hope they take that as a no thanks.

Some do some dont.

Hey ho no big deal.

Edinburgh (She/Her)

Every person will use winks in their own way.

Personally, I Ignore the majority unless a profile is off interest and may either respond back in kind or message them.

I don't tend to wink in general and are more likely to message in the first instance.

No response to the wink (as oldie said, even a wink back) no interest. Move on

Yep. Surely a wink is just one step down from cut & paste patter?

At least cut & paste needs a few key presses worth of effort, you have to admire that.

I rarely get a wink so when I do.

I send a wee polite message if I'm interested.

I've always thought of the wink as a like button, If their interest they'll wink back and if not then they won't. I never wink myself because I've seen so many girls say they don't respond to them.

What's the point in having them?!

Send me a wink
