"Just seen the news that Glasgow is on a partial lockdown again. No meeting other households. Stay safe to all our friends and everyone else through that way " Yeah not good! The restrictions will apply to people living in Glasgow, West Dunbartonshire and East Renfrewshire.

"The word lockdown is a bit over dramatic" I used the word partial lockdown which is exactly what it is locking down people's homes from visitors

" won’t people just meet in a pub or coffee shop - which is probably more dangerous?" They will and it is more dangerous. And I don't think the parts of Glasgow affected will be the last in the country

"I don’t think it is anywhere near a lockdown. Hence the word partial " I know you did, my reply was more in relation to the media frenzy of using the word lockdown at all. I appreciate that people can’t go to others homes but you can still go to pubs/restaurants etc makes no sense to me whatsoever.

"It’s total nonsense. Who exactly is going to check that every single person in these areas are not going to have anyone in their homes? I’m not talking big parties, even just one other person is breaking the “rules” and during the height of total lockdown this didn’t happen. A lot of people will comply but it’s the ones that haven’t complied to any previous rules that are likely not to entertain this and basically we will go round in circles! " I think this is the first step until she introduces the same as Aberdeen.

"If we are going to get picky over words we technically never had a lockdown in the first place as we were allowed out every day and it wasn’t monitored unlike some other countries. I was issued with a letter in case I was stopped by the police when working But never needed to use it so we definitely didn’t have a true lockdown. Personally I feel we need to learn to live with this as don’t think it’s going anywhere and if we start doing all our shopping and working from home then we will see more devastation to small businesses and those that need to use the likes of public transport will see huge price increases. " I agree its like the flu and it isn't going anywhere and a vaccine isn't going to cover you for every strain of it either. X

" These new restrictions are part of learning to live with it. A temporary halt to visiting folks in their homes is a very small price to pay in order to slow the spread and protect the vulnerable. "As a previous post says we can meet at the pub or coffee shop. We Jimmy crankie needs to close the pubs every out brake of the virus that's happened since opening of pub has a link to pubs. On Saturday night there was a mass brawl at a pub in Glasgow and nothing done about it. Why is wee Jimmy krankie not closing pubs " The rise in cases in Glasgow has been driven by house parties. Pubs and Restaurants have to follow protocols in order to be open and can be closed down if they don’t. The Wee Jimmy Krankie thing was mildly funny 10 years ago. It’s grim recycled patter now. "this minute! The Scottish government reported on Tuesday that almost 40,000 pupils had been tested for coronavirus since term started, with 117 positive results. Thats, approx, 250 per 100000. They closed Leicester, at 140. What's happening up there Thought kids didn't spread it" Jesus Christ. You really need to do learn that when comparing statistics you have to do like for like. That does not equate to 250 positive tests per 100,000 of the population. As the figure in Leicester did. D

"Didn't u not read it 250 out of 100000 They closed Leicester 140 out 100000. Wer I went to school 250 is more than 140" 140 in 100000 in Leicester was the proportion of the population with the virus. 117 kids testing positive doesn’t not equate to 250 per 100000 in Scotland having the virus ffs. You’re just embarrassing yourself chief. D

"For all she's claiming otherwise I very strongly suspect schools are at the root of this. We know children can carry the virus even though they are unlikely to get ill from it. Kids are natural germ magnets. Blame it on parties all you like, I'm not buying it. Are we meant to believe there's been a sudden huge upsurge in parties in this last week.. I don't think so. The whole thing stinks of politics to me." exactly my thoughts , there’s is no way she can shut the schools again , the two week window I suspect is to confirm that this is the case , no surprise the legislation was approved to break up gatherings of 15 or more , and ultimately she has avoided the concept she put forward of class rotation and downsizing classes , She has done ok , Gave a friend in NZ who wasn’t happy how the PM dealt with it over there , but ultimately she has been the best leader worldwide there and her approval ratings are sky high over there. Ultimately we will be living with this for years. Stay Safe People

"The fear among government scientists is that if the outbreak gets out of control among young people, it will eventually leak into the more vulnerable parts of the population. What might look like a divergence between cases and deaths is actually just a larger lag. At present under 40s getting it. Once schools go back grand parents and parents will be more at risk The more at risk groups wil get ill" You sound like Msm ...your in a pocket of someone

"The numbers of cases may be rising, but the under lying questions are:- How many are ending up in hospital How many are dying from it " Hospital admissions and deaths are still low, however the transmission is mainly taking place among young adults who generally have a mild reaction. Without restrictions being put in place the spread of the infection would rise exponentially increasing the risk of the vulnerable being affected and in turn hospital admissions and deaths rising. It’s not difficult to understand if you listen to what the experts are saying. D.

"So a teacher can attend work with hundreds of kids while some are rife with the rona where social distancing is ni-on impossible but the very same teacher can’t go round to visit a friend? It’s a good job that the teacher can then meet their friend down the local boozer or coffee joint. Sturgeon has lost the plot. I was going to say she’d lost all credibility but any small bit of credibility she did have was lost a long-long time ago." 40,000 kids tested and only 117 tested positive. 0.3%. The schools are not rife with Rona. Boozers and coffee joints must adhere to set out hygiene and contact tracing protocols and the track and trace system has shown that these establishments are not driving infection. Gatherings in private homes is the route cause. If you read and listen to what the experts are saying, it’s not difficult to see that a temporary restriction on going into folks houses is a measured and proportional approach to dealing with a rise in cases and protecting the vulnerable. But don’t let the facts get in the way of your politics.. D
