Glasgow

Hi guys,

The other day I cycled on the Clyde oath all the way to Loch Lomond.. wondered if anyone had any other good routes I could tackle? I’m a bit of a newbie to all this cycling carry on

Almost anything on NCR7 is a joy. Some of the routes on the other side of Loch Lomond in the Trissachs, towards Aberfoyle and Callander, are really great fun with brilliant scenery and local interest.

outside your bedroom window ;-)

Head down the Lochwinnoch cycle path and come off at Lochwinnoch, head over the back into Kilmalocm and round ...

Try the East Kilbride tk Stewarton back though Eaglesham

There are loads of cycle paths and routes

Check out the sustrans website which lists most of them

Also check out letsride.co.uk

That has some social group led cycles on it

Glasgow

The canal is a pretty good route, depending on where you are you can plan a nice loop involving the Clydeside.

The Lochwinnoch route runs not too far from my front door in sunny Paisley!

Glasgow/London

The ncr7 is my usual towards loch Lomond, it's pretty good.

If you had East, follow the 75 towards uddingston, where it splits again. Is also a nice route

Or take the 754 North towards Falkirk and see the wheel.

Loch katrine is a popular cyclists route if you can take your bike in the car there.

Parts of the WHW can be done on bike too, particular bridge of orchy northwards.

I'm cycling the arrochar/tarbet to Glasgow via balloch route tomorrow. Have done it from luss to Glasgow so hoping the add on is as beautiful

Ive done the clydebank to Tarbet n back via balloch before was a great (or the shorter balloch to Tarbet n back)
