Thinking of taking this up. Anyone got any advice for a complete beginner?

Linlithgow

Find a class. Go regularly and do some at home.

There plenty of apps available, but they're not as good as a class.

Don't feel intimidated, we all start somewhere.

Be consistent.

Cheers. I’ve downloaded an app and ordered a book. Hopefully find a class nearby.

Glasgow ish

we want to try yoga but it seems soo expensive, excuse my ignorance if it isn't but it does seem that way to us. The classes we looked in to were coming in at £75 each a month.

Join a gym for £25 a month and go to as many classes as you want.

Don’t expect to be able to do everything on the first couple of classes. The more you go the more flexible you’ll become.

If you are on the Southside of Glasgow, Govanhill Bath does a free online yoga class via zoom. Don’t need to reside in Govanhill.

I used to pop into the Glasgow Buddhist Centre on Sauchiehall St. who do drop in classes.

They do other classes for the more advanced but for a quiet calm relaxing drop in session they are central

In the absence of in-person classes (which are better in terms of getting feedback and corrections) I've reverted to Yoga with Adrienne on YouTube - really good with stuff to suit all levels, capabilities and preferences.

Thank God for that, no offense to anyone in Govanhill, but it is intimidating the way the locals hang around in large groups on Calder Street and Allison Street.

Having done bith pro classes and a lot of home yoga, I can give Adrienne's stuff a thumbs up. Decent introductory moves and a good variety of videos without any patronising or spiritual woowoo.

Another recommendation for this YouTube channel. And she has a lovely calming manner.
