Hi. Was wondering if any social events occur up in the highlands. I notice some being discussed in Aberdeen Edinburgh etc but now for us highlanders

....down the Rabbit Hole with a shotgun

There have been socials in Inverness in the past, but, nothing recent as far as I know.

Depending on numbers attending, the major problem is going to be finding a venue and keeping it discreet.

I know for a fact, at least one venue went nuts when they found out it was a Swinging Social and cancelled as they didn't want to risk getting any bad publicity.

You can see the headlines in the Inverness Courier or the Highland News now, can't you?

We all know how small minded the Highlands can be. Folk are just not as liberated as they are in the Central Belt, unfortunately.

Maybe, renting a holiday cottage or something similar might be the way to go? I know that's been done before, if you know what I mean.

Sexytown, Moray

I would be very interested in this. Relocating very soon to the area.

I have been the organiser of many socials in the south east of england, including the very popular London and Heathrow socials.

Once I am settled and restrictions and covid allow I will be looking at organising something.

Looking forward to meeting new people and making new friends

Inverness

Socials in a pub have been done previously, but it's very rare.

The Highlands is very much a gossipy wee village and there is not the open social network up here as there are in many other areas.

I don’t understand why this would be an issue? I used to be very involved in the highland kink scene and they had meet ups weekly. No issue whatsoever, ever. I don’t known what they do now as I’m not involved. There’s no reason to tell a pub that a group of friends meeting is a group of swingers, it’s about discretion.

No, it's not but no one suggested it is. The discussion is Highland Socials.
