After having been off since mid March I am back to work in a weeks time. Although in one way it will be great to have some routine in my life again I have to admit I've gotten used to life in lockdown.

Finding I have real anxiety at the thought of being in amongst people again although we will be ppe,d the fear is taking over.

Anyone else felt like this ?

I went back just over two weeks ago and like yourself the anxiety was overwhelming me. I am in full Ppe as well, the one thing I would say is it takes a while to get used to it I’ve just settled back into a routine but the first few days for me were hard and had a wobble or two xxx

I got the call 3wks ago so I've been back a few weeks.

I felt sick at the thought of it, and nearly didn't go.

But I'm back and despite my fears I'm actually enjoying it. We've all got to wear masks etc, and I wash and sanitise my hands loads on shift, but it's nice interacting with others and it feels like things are a bit more normal again.

Good luck x

Feeling exactly the same way. Just found out a few hours ago that I'm back to work on Tuesday. It's rather unexpected and haven't been on a bus or in the city centre at all since March

That’s a shame you feel like that but I’m sure many do. Hopefully it’ll settle as you get used to new routines etc. I’m still not back but don’t think it will be long either

Once you’ve been back a day or two it’ll start to feel like you’ve never been away lol

Glasgow/London

Sitting home can't last forever.

Have to bite the bullet eventually and get over the whole 'everyone is a walking disease' mindset that we've got so used to.

It'll be good for everyone to get back to working, but just respect people's space it'll all be fine... And we'll be having our Christmas parties soon!

I’ve never been off yet minus a couple of days here and there

I go back at the end of the month. Travelling salesman but I know a lot of my customers just don't want to see us. Some of my colleagues down south are saying a lot of factories are just flat out ignoring social distancing and only pay lip service to safety precautions

I'm sorry that you are feeling anxious. It's a really strange time as you start gwtting used to one phase and then the next comes in. I've been working half in the office and half at home most of the time so I've kept some routine of being around people.

As with everything it will get easier with time. Just remember if you feel anxiety levels rising, to stop and take a slow deep breath

Been working all the way through, although from home.

Been into the office maybe 4 times, but it was only for about an hour each time.

18th March was the last time I did a full shift in the office.

outside your bedroom window ;-)

You will be fine, follow the rules.

I do get the anxiety, for the last what 4 months we have been conditioned into staying in. Still can't bring myself to go into a pub

Ditto.

Only occasional food shopping. Not been in any sort of group or crowd since March

Yeah it's the being amongst a group of people that seems to be my main issue, even though I will be in a very controlled environment.

Just take it easy (cue the Eagles lol), I’m sure if you expressed your concerns to colleagues and needed a wee time out in the initial stages they would understand. They might even feel the same x

I can understand people's apprehension around things. Hopefully though you'll all get back and after a day or so you'll feel better.

I've not been off, but part of my role is to look at how we bring others back and their wellbeing is a top priority as well as all the safety measures x
