If they buggers are anything like the Isle of Arran midge, then oldspice aftershave will do the trick.

Absolutely hate the midge's here, they have been so bad of late. We go to the Isle of Arran every year but now go in the autumn month's because they are famous for the swarm's of midge's!!

If you want to have a proper repellant use something containing DEET as active ingredient. Its odour is way less intense than other agents. I used it myself and it repelled even the worst mosquitos in south east asia.

Tell me about it - in-laws (now dearly departed) had a house on the west side of the island - fecking buggers (the midges that is) had tackety boots and are the worse of the midges in Scotland.

anywhere

you can buy deet bracelets on ebay for about £2 each and they are quite effective.also take a plug in mozzi killer to put in your bedroom.you buy a packet of pellets and change them every 2 hours.best keep doors closed in bedroom and use air con.

The above is the best advice on here.

effin mozzies hate them with a passion!

2 years ago I got on a flight that went to and from Alicante. The mozzies had hitched a ride and swear to God was bitten within 1 minute of getting on the plane They just love me!

Last year I was so white before hols I decided to use the Johnstons moisuriser with the tanning effect in it.

For the first time ever I never had a single bite, am convinced it was due to the smell it gives off. I'm sold and will use again so think this may help you, never know.

Enjoy the holiday sounds fab
