Feel lonely just now? And then feel bad because you know other people are suffering so much more than you?

The other-thinking that I'm doing just now is driving me insane

I lead a quiet life with a very small circle of friends.

I come from a small family and very seldom anyone visits me which is how i like it. Lockdown really has not changed my life much but i own dogs and still work so always busy.

Your life sounds just like mine apart from the dogs.

Me personally, I'd rather feel lonely being single than being in a relationship and feeling lonely.

I can understand that, I've actually only had one very short relationship a few years back. Always been single otherwise raising my son. I am so lucky with the small group of friends I have but they are all doing the whole marriage and kids thing and so trying to work in a good time to visit them can be difficult just now and I never want to go round when I'm feeling low and put it on them. Tomorrow is another day though

I have always lived alone and I love my own company. If someone had asked me before this if I could cope with a lockdown, I would have been full of bravado and said 'no problem'.I have found it really tough, much tougher than I ever thought. Not lonely, just the fact I can't do as I wish is mind blowing at times. Soon be over.

I've never thought about it like that before but could very well be part of my problem too. Everything sort of on hold and needing to make decisions but can't really until things settle down

Usually there will always be someone somewhere that's worse of than you or me.

That doesn't mean we should feel bad about that though, we're all human and we all have feelings

Be kind to yourself. Allow yourself to feel things and then dust yourself down and move on. Never compare your own feelings to others. It's all perspective. I've learnt that the hard way over the years.

I’m quite a private person at the best of times but have at times found this whole scenario quite hard! I have been trying my best to chat to folk but most of the times cba, if anyone feels they’d like to chat then I’m always available...

Yes I can understand that. My friends quite often don't know there's been problems until months after they've passed and I've mentioned things. I hate putting anything onto someone else as I'm so aware they have their own life and problems to deal with without mine too.

It's ok, not to be ok.

Speak to your friends about it, that's what's friends are for.

Don't try and put a happy face on just for other people.

Everyone and I mean everyone has tough times in there life when they need help. Don't be afraid to reach out for help.

Be kind to yourself.

At the very least you will always have this rag tag bunch of misfits to talk too .

You could crew a pirate ship with this lot!

Hugs available!

Now we only have to put on a hazmat suit, or cover ourselves in antibacterial gel ( this might get either slippery or kinky) or do metaphorical hugs at 2m or nip over the border for a 1m hug.

But hugs are here should you need them.

I’ve been lucky that I have worked right through but the weekends have been awful with the walls closing in

Had a lot of tears today as I’m so tired of life. Got a new fitness plan starting on Monday which is first day of hols and needs 14k steps a day so I know I’m going to be walking miles the next fortnight so hopefully that will help the restlessness

Always here to chat if needed too so pop a message if you want to talk pish lol xx

Aww thank you!! Few things are better than a nice hug! Not sure about the antibac though - might sting in certain areas

I feel much the same way as everyone else. Life is just blah!! It feels pointless and lonely, you just want to get out and see the work but you can’t, to be stuck in this one place surrounded by people but feeling alone all at the same time. My suggestion is this we are all on the pause button right now so maybe it’s now we take the time to put things in order, go for a job we’ve always wanted, plan the trip of a lifetime we’ve always wanted, tell someone you see as more than a friend you like them so that when the play button is hit we can continue in a happier place.

I tried the whole telling someone you like them but I don't think they like me that way hey ho, best to know. Maybe I'll play say and think about a holiday next

Life is full off ups and downs, you have to experience the downs to appreciate the ups I think.

Concentrate on doing things that make you happy so when you do meet somebody.

They will be enhancing your life as apposed to finding someone for happiness
