I have been invited to a vanilla friend's birthday party (obviously lock down permitting) in Edinburgh during Sept. Won't be staying with him and need a place to stay. Any recommendations for AirBnB either in/out of the city for a week or so? somewhere that would be suitable for a FAB meet would be a bonus.

He and his wife haven't yet set the dates. but likely to be a Saturday middle of the month. They are looking for the date most people can attend. It will obviously also be governed by C19 advice.

So how often do you have socials? I'm retired so I tend to go to places stay a couple of weeks or so and then onto the next party, event or choral get together with friends!

Hopefully once a month. the Saturday evening in the month if that makes sense.

Which part of the city are your friends in?

No point in staying in Leith if they're Westside etc.

Ideally you'd want waking distance to theirs or city centre

They are on Canongate but I’m guessing Party will be in a Church Hall locally. Lovely folk but BAC’s so likely to be a zero alcohol not in centre!

Could check out city suites down in western harbour, there's quite a few flats down there for holiday rents,and places inside and out for fun..
