"While I like a good ride (on a bike), if I'm honest, it's running which gets rid of weight. I did c25k a couple of years back, I now do 5-8k 3 or 4 times a week. I can see when my running mileage goes up, the weight comes off..." I'd love to be able to run. Used to do the 100m and 200m for school but could never run any distance. Always end up with a sore back. Mr and friends who run always talk about it clearing the mind too.

Off-road (or at least some of a run) just seems easier on my joints, it also uses more of my body to balance. Also, make sure you've really bouncy/accomodating sole trainers. I had a pair of Adidas which felt ace in the shop, but they were too soft and I was 'thumping' my heels lots. C25k also builds you up gently, so even if you are fit, your body gets used to things and builds strength. Finally, I have a wee post run our bike yoga stretch and that really helps.

"... I’m starting c25k on Monday... pray for me lol" Stick at it - the first week is ok, middle two or three tough, suddenly it's like 'oooh, check me, I'm running!'.... Let us know how you get on.
