Im not local but if you can be a bit more precise, "crashed" doesn't help much. Does it power on,? does it beep? If it does beep, is it continuos?

Aww Bollocks.. thought maybe you had been there and seen it as well !!!

Cop on a mountain bike near the the royal mile the other day..

Some guy just shouted "Pull a Wheelie" and he fell of the back of the bike..

It was soooo Funny...

4 other monitors?

Im guessing the power led on the monitor stays orange. Have you changed anything recently? There's a few things that can cause this, best to take it to pcworld. If your worried about what's on the hard disk, just remove it from the chassis (its pretty straight forward)

Since all the geeks are having a look, what kind of cable do I need to remove data from a broken laptop's hard drive onto another pc?

"Since all the geeks are having a look, what kind of cable do I need to remove data from a broken laptop's hard drive onto another pc?"

would depend on what h/d is in your laptop your best bet is probably a laptop hard drive caddy

Go to dabs.com ans search for "hard drive caddy", however if your files are in my documents nd your using win2k or above you may have problems accessing the files due to the security measures in the NTFS filing system, there are ways round this but be prepared to get your hands dirty

Depends on the type of disk. Could be SATA or IDE depending on age

loose or broken video board...the fact it happens with 4 monitors suggests it could be...trace the cable from the monitor to the back of the computer and check the nick of the socket its plugged into..do you see any messages on screen before monitor shuts off?

Could be that the graphics card is loose. With all the changing of monitors it could have got twisted in the motherboard and lost contact

Vast majority of pc's have onboard VGA now, plus Post would have indicated VGA error (in most pc's with decent bios)

I have a small rig that can connect to most types of hard drives if you want to try and retrieve any files. Also have assorted bits that might help work out where the problem lies if it would help?
