Used to cycle regularly but got out of the habit.

Thinking of starting again to help my lungs recover after illness.

I will be getting a bike at some point to cycle around Loch Leven but I will need to wear a face covering. Not for the Corona but because of the flies

My bike is sitting in the garage unused and I've been meaning to get out. Any recommendations for routes around Falkirk?

Bermondsey

If you use Strava, they'll have plenty of local routes posted by other cyclists

I use my bike for commuting, but I'm not going to be taking it up and down the stairs from bedroom to kitchen

Hi,

It's a common question from non cyclists. If it's a standard road (2 lanes), then riding 2 abreast should cause no delay to a driver as to give sufficient room to a single cyclist the driver would have to move into oncoming traffic. So regardless of single file or 2 abreast you have to wait for the traffic coming in the opposite direction to be clear.

If riding in single file, it takes longer for a motorist to pass, therfore they have to wait for a bigger gap in the oncoming traffic (less common for it to come along). So, it is actually better for a motorist if cyclists ride two abreast.

This is assuming the motorist gives the cyclist the correct space (at least 1.5m / 5 feet) and doesn't try and squeeze past.

I how this explains it.

Could you not get a motorbike to make you go faster so we can go faster while waiting for it to be safe to pass you
