I think there is one on Rose Street (always mix my cheap hotels up) which is very central but have to say no complaints at all - did the job after a night out.

Have you checked booking.com? It's really good for hotel reviews and a lot more helpful than what's posted on this forum

If you're not dead set on city centre, I'd check out Leith as well. Great pubs and atmosphere there. And not that far from city centre x

Id like to stay in centre and at a Travelodge as i had a great sleep. But i want something cheap, but if i wanted to meet people off here, and ask them to come to my room, they would need a key card

Aye ok. Travelodge website might be your answer. These hotels all have similar beds and stuff so you'll have a good sleep in any of them.

St Mary's Street is just off the Royal Mile (Hollyrood end)

Not a fan of travelodge ever really but there are lots of them all over Edinburgh.

Not sure they really are always the cheapest either.

No one really knows what will be open by then but I'd extend your search beyond that chain, you may be surprised by what you can find

St Mary's Street is just off the Royal Mile (Hollyrood end)

If you're looking for a place a bit cheaper, then if you extend your limit to Newbridge, there's a Travelodge and Premiere Inn nearby.

There's also a Holiday Inn Express and a Hilton at the Airport area.

Yes there is literally nothing nearby, but if you plan to be out all day and you just need somewhere to crash, then these may be ideal options.

The two in Newbridge/Ratho Station would require the use of a bus to get in to the centre of town, but the ones near the airport have good access to the tram.

I tend to stay at Travelodge haymarket quiet easy to get parked and usually competitively priced, in general though I’m more of a premier inn or ihg hotel group

Urban Village in crewe toll,10 mins from the centre,nice area,ive been to mens rooms there so its easy to get past reception....just now with the current situation I couldn't say though.

I will check out one day , we love a hotel that is easy past reception then our visitors are invisible, lol no awkward questions from reception

Names are only being taken if your sitting in bar area or restaurant in the hotel i work in
