Now should be a really good time to update profiles and make them honest.

I am sure it is not only us but the amount of profiles we see saying they are "New to this" yet have been on the site several years.

Then there are the "Profile to be updated later" which again have been on years.

There are those that cannot be bothered to write anything and the three word profiles.

There are the profiles you cannot make head or tale of.

Don't get me onto the "warnings to universities". You are on a swinging site putting photos on there and adding verifications of exactly what you did!

I won't go on about the time machine effect where photos look twenty years younger than the people.

Yes, I know. We have been locked away far too long and we are going stir crazy, but.... If you want to entice someone else to spend time with you trying to write a honest and genuine profile can actually make a difference.

Cant speak for the guys but a lot of women's profiles are lazy. "Fill in later", "Just ask" or "Here to see what the fuss is about" and not much else are pretty common. Guess they dont need to make an effort to get bombarded by the masses, but if someone cant be bothered filling in a profile, I usually cant be bothered typing out a message to find out what they're about.

Or the "If you do not send a face pic we will not reply and block you".

They do not have a face pic and sometimes no other pictures on their sites.

We find that the profiles say far more than a photo that should be banned by the Geneva Convention as a weapon of torture.

It really doesn't matter what you put in a profile I find....folk rarely take heed. Ours is very direct and to the point and I still get sent utter guff.

Profiles actually say something about the couple/ person and give you and idea if you would like to talk to them more.

With some photos they may be years old, be stolen from another person or from the internet or be one of those close up shots you really have to try and work out what it is of. Some photos you really wish you could unsee.

I read profiles thoroughly before I first message someone. Those that show a sense of humour tend to catch my eye. I also find that, quite often, folk don't stick rigidly to what their profile states, though. NO MARRIED OR ATTACHED is my favourite. I've had textual relationships with many of those ones. Not naming any names.

Nothing right or wrong about what you want to do with your profiles as it's no one elses how others do theirs.

Iv got pics from a few yrs ago but also have recent face/body pics in my private gallery but I choose not to make those public.

If folk dont like the look of a profile they wont message.

Simple.

I'm pretty sure mine is full of the things people get annoyed by.

It's long

It's too wordy

I make some demands

And I mention that it's unlikely I'll reply.

It's irrelevant though as so many don't read it anyway if their messages to me are anything to go by.

We all have preferences but ultimately people should have their own profiles however they want.

There are people on here who know us well but the what, where how and who we will leave to trip advisor. You can add stars as well or you could just send a copy to some university or other.

What is the point of wanting discretion and then telling the world about it?

If people have to categorise their pictures for approval why don’t FAB have a filter that stope guys sending unsolicited dick pics to people? If dick pics isn’t ticked on your likes you don’t get them.

Seems simple and would rid Fab of one of their biggest complaints.

I’ve been trying to update ours (mostly pics of me lately as I’ve been shopping online as I’m at home during this lockdown and Ian working)

We request a face pic as we like to know who we’re chatting with (also I’m bad at names) and accept that whilst they might not have it in public gallery, they can PM us it. Our face pics are there, so we’re not asking for anything we don’t do ourselves.

Because they'd get around that by classifying them as sky remote controls

The photo mods have enough problems trying to sort out photos without checking classifications
