Do you think they know that the Union Flag is made up of the flags of the union members and Scotland is one of them, hence the blue bits.

wonder if they ever asked the people of scotland if they wanted to be in a flag with the english one ?i notice they made sure the Scots bit of the rag sits in its place , beneath the english bit . there is alot of things that have been imposed on the Scots from the south that i doubt we were ever asked if we actually wanted it . i suppose the english queen of german orign is a good case to ponder

I was wearing my Team GB training shirt whilst out on a run today, guy in his forties called me a hun! as a Partick Thistle fan, i nearly drop kicked the fool!!

We are a small group of countries who pull together to make a stronger collective. Why cant people see that?

A petition to get it off and independance is called for then as you are so unhappy

freedome from english governance is probably going to be enevitable , i dont think a petition to take the Scots bit out of the english flag is nessessary , all that reallyneeds to be done is just chuck the rag in the bin , its a joke bit of cloth impoed by ajoke country upon us. who really needs it ? let the south keep it , hope it makes them happy

A lot of people will probably wave flags at that, but probably won't burn them, as they are probably not so vindictive.

We Would PREFER to see people waving Flags from their Own country..

ie - if a welsh person Wins Something in the olympics - then that person can wave a union jack or a welsh flag or maybe even - Both Flags !!!

do you remember the olimpics when the black atheletes stood on the podium , and as the us anthem was played they gave the black power salute ? wouldnt it be a hoot if a Scot won something , on the podium and as the english anthem was played the bellowed out " freedom ",now that i would pay to see

here her!

But the SFA have been told to remove the Saltire from Hampden during the Olympic Games cos the Olympics don't recognise Scotland asa country.WTF!!!

You know - King James VI has a lot to answer for!

To parody that well known classical saying:

Angliae capta ferum victorem cepit !!

Even as an english born wife and married to a scots hubby for over 20 yrs - i have often thought it would have been nice if the likes of david coulthard and andy murray had the option to wave their own nations FLAG..

Dario franchitti or some name - had thousands of americans waving our own st andrews flags at him - when he won his third indy 500 .

But it was a union jack that was raised behind him on the podium !!

heard that England has several thousand street parties organised and Scotland has only 100 official parties. I am going to get my Saltire out, so I will be flying my countries flag with pride.

Much as I'd like a separate Scotland, I think the Queen has been a fantastic monarch and I'll gladly raise a glass to her this weekend. But, not much of a fan of the rest of her family.

Proud Scottish and British !!

Scotland elects MP s to the parliment in Westminster so get over this tosh that we are some how an occupied country.

In fact as per head of population we are over represented at Westminster.

I am happy to wave the union flag.
