If as they recon this could go on with social distancing, lasting 2 years where does that leave the future of swinging or meeting friends ?

It’s a very good way for the government to control people. Any rules and regs can be put down to coronavirus and implemented

Where'd you get that figure from, I've not seen anything like that

We're struggling to contain people after 11 weeks.

Things are going to change in shopping and workplaces, but I can't see the queuing and 2m restrictions being enforceable for that period of time

Bingo!

People have "The fear" in them already, and people are easier to coax and coerce when they're afraid of stuff.

The CV track and trace app is all part of it. Yes we all know that there's ways to get info from devices if you really want to, but do you want a Government based app on your phone or tablet with full access to everything on it and the GPS?

Not paranoia or conspiracy theories, just all fact.

Your phone pings cell towers all the time. If they want to trace us then you downloading an app is irrelevant. It's funny that people think they can stop the government getting that info.

There was a get good article by Google this week showing generalised movements of people, travel, locations of where they've been etc.

Your data is already being collected and used for all sorts of purposes, so this app isn't going to gather much more, but it will just applying that information in a particular way.

If you don't want to be tracked or traced, then don't use a mobile phone, stop using credit and debit cards and don't use satnav in your car

If you don't want tracked then build a time machine and head for the 1970.its the only way now to stay off radar.

It's feckin depressing but unfortunately true.

The point I was making was if they wish to they can track you. They can do it today and gchq will be able (and willing) to track you and everyone you meet right now whether you download an app or not.

It's just a matter of making a database and cross matching with others. The towers know you are there as your phone sends a handshake.

If you call a cell phone does every tower in the world do a search for that phone to connect you? No they don't cause the towers know where you are and call the phone you want to connect to. Its a one to one connection not a broadcast net around the worlds towers. So tracking would be a piece of piss to do without you opting in.

Previous corona virus outbreaks have lasted around 18 months in total with a pattern of 3 spikes.

Downing St have started telling NHS to prepare for a second spike in July, we would still have usual pattern of winter and spring spikes to come.

Somewhere over there

I’ve just done an example of who I think is an aspirational person as part of the virtual guide camp and one was Anne Frank.

She effectively, spent 2 years in hiding/lockdown with much less than we have these days, in terms of technology/information on the outside world and access to food and a far greater danger posed to her.

Yes, I’d love to see friends, family and fab friends but we’ve got to be sensible about this and not let it spike again or keep going.

As it is, guides will be lucky to resume Sept and camps/outings till next year May/June at the earliest.

Millie

You want scary go watch the Amazon documentaries, panorama & some other have done a few about them & data harvesting.

They can Jack off if they think I'm gonna download a tracking app....there's little worse than being stalked.

Get an older phone...all permissions denied for location, Bluetooth off & denied access to apps....yes you have to go into the permissions of EVERY APP to deny them, most set "following you everywhere" as the norm and run a VPN. No stupid "where did I lose my phone apps" either.

They can triangulate me but that's it.

Not really on social media, old old cars that have polystyrene for a bumper so no chance of trackers unless put on deliberately & I have a detector as this has been done to me in the past.

Generally stay away from busy watched places like town centers, shops (except food), pubs etc...basically people lol

No Alexa or other smart listening device. No ring doorbell. Most things are still cabled in my house. Deliberately avoid "quick" customs controls where they take bio-metics such as iris patterns & don't blooming ask either!

Data is the biggest commodities...not be long before Nano trackers are slipped into something that goes in your body.

And yes, I got my tinfoil hat on....it's shiny!

Nope, whether switched off or not, if you call certain numbers your location is switched on automatically and your eisec data is sent. You carry a mobile or smart watch you will be tracked. And no warrants are required

2yrs social distancing...... idiotic people are already starting to arrange private meets in private messages. It'll affect the club scene, but private meets and parties will soon become a more regular thing.
