Dior Sauvage, JPG original, Paco Robane Pure XS are all heavenly.

But in all honesty, if you are putting on the skin the aftershave/perfume will smell different on everyone so you have to test it

"Gucci envy for men.

Used to love the perfume but not smelled the aftershave.

Assuming they're freshly showered sometimes it's just nice to nuzzle into a neck and smell their skin.

Problem is what may suit one person may not another, as any scent blends with your own body oils...

So a recommendation won't really help

Though it may give you some new ideas

The only one you will ever need is Molecule 01 from Harvey Nics or online.

I am an old fart and I get lots of compliments on it. The lady in the gents department in Frasers actually hit on me and that never happens with my Fabreeze.

It’s nigh on impossible to by fragrances now as there is nowhere to tey them or have a sniff. Are any brands sending out samples as I would like to try Creed?

I was in Boots Hamilton a couple of weeks ago and the shelves were bare.

My dad was an old spice man too. The house would reek of it when he was going out. Sometimes tempted to buy some just so I can remember that.

I've been single so long I don't know what any of the nice ones are called now but when a man smells good it's intoxicating and so powerful

If you are going to spend £180+ on a fragrance, then you're not wanting to end up just smelling like everyone else, so definitely do not buy Aventus! Plus, most people who wear 'Aventus' are wearing cheaper clones, so you'd be spending a fortune just to smell like everyone else who've only spent £30 to smell the same!!

Also when you spend hundreds on a fragrance, you are almost obligated to wear it everyday, so my advice is to buy smaller samples, so quality fragrances are more affordable, meaning you can buy a variety of different smells, that will make you unique every single day.

Everyone quotes Creed or Tom Ford, but even though they are good, they are lazy and a bit of a cliche, but they are easy to find so if you want to go with them, then go for Creed - Milliseme Imperial, and Tom Ford - Oud Wood

Giving away my secrets, but take your pick from these guaranteed panty droppers to begin with

Maison Francis Kurkjdian - Baccarat Rouge 540

Nassomatto - Baraonda

Amouage - Reflection Man

Parfums de Marly - Layton

Acqua di Parma - Colonia Intensa

Escentric Molecules - Molecule One

Hermes - Terre d'Hermes

Serge Lutens - Chergui

Dior - Feve Delicieuse

Bond no9 - New Haarlem

Le Labo - Santal 33

Mugler - Pure Havanne

Somewhere over there

(Just checked what Ian has)

David Beckham- Beyond Forever

Armani

Paul Smith-Extreme

Body Shop-Arber aftershave

I used to work in Boots so they had tester sprays, but think with lockdown easing, they’ll be removing them and makeup etc testers to stop cross contamination.

Best time to put on aftershave/perfume is straight after a shower (once dry) as your pores are most open then and will take in more. DON’T rub wrists/neck etc as that alters the scent, just let it soak in.

EDT is Eau De Toilette and tends to be lighter and more for daytime use, so you’re likely to spray it more (hence why it’s usually cheaper)

EDP is Eau De Parfam and will have richer, more expensive oils/scents in it and so tends to be for evening/special occasions (so usually more expensive)

My favs for daytime are Ralph Lauren Romance and DKNY Be Delicious (used to love Ghost Serenity but they’ve discontinued it ) Evening ones are Ghost Deep Night and Armani Code
