I think it's mainly because there's less salt and milk solids in it.

Butter used to be up to 8% milk solids, now it's about 4%

The only place that does proper butter nowadays are farm shops.

Lurpak is made by Arla Foods who also make anchor butter and other cheaper brands of butter too.

The reason you like lurpak is the additive content such as salt, sugar and preservatives.

The only difference between butters is the additive and were the milk comes from. If the milk is from a variety of sources the fat content (which is butter essentially) is blended to get a uniform taste.

Sort yo burst bubbles here.

Cheaper own brand butter is probably better for you are they will usually have less additives and will therefore taste more authentically natural.

I’ll second Kerrygold, Mum brought me up on the stuff (she even checks which supermarket does it cheaper each week!) but now living in own place, we use Clover for simplicity.

Brilliant butter nothing can beat it but expensive af try something from local Polish shop a lot cheaper and better quality then the stuff u can get for the same price in supermarkets
