Has anybody else noticed that due to lockdown our wildlife is getting braver.

I live in the Galloway Forest Park and the other evening I spotted 2 pine martens.

I'd only spotted 2 prior to this in 7 years of living here.

Beautiful creatures!

Anybody else spotted anything cool recently?

Glasgowish

I was in the garden 2 weeks ago and a red admiral butterfly kept flying onto my leg. Think he was after my pizza. I even managed to take a few pics of the beautiful creature.

Nice to think that less pollution and noise is bringing the wildlife out a bit more.

I think a lot of us have a little more time on our hands and probably noticing much more than we normally would. Nice either way you look at it

Was out for a cycle yesterday, stopped to watch a buzzard being chased off by a couple of crows. Brilliant to watch. Got to love Mother Nature

3 hedgehogs out on my front lawn just now.

I love living in a wild corner of Scotland.

Mold

Come down to North Wales and join the goats in Llandudno

Not that there's been an increase in the number of birds, but it's lovely to hear the dawn chorus so easily without the background of traffic

Todays sightings.....

A brown hare and a common lizard.

Living in 300 square miles of wilderness aint so bad during lockdown.

Loads of accounts online of animals taking back towns etc.

One I saw was a family of brown bears crosding a main road on the outskirts of Genoa in Italy

I saw a Hen Harrier yesterday, had to go and look it up! First time I've ever seen one in 40 odd years of watching birds.

Definitely getting braver.been travelling to Dundee every night for work lately, the amount of road kill is unbelievable, I think because of the roads being quieter they dont recognize the danger as much and saunter about on them,2 or 3 times at least every night I have to brake hard or swerve to avoid knocking them down.oh,and find a few hedgehogs in the back garden if I get home early enough

Defo alot more birds wonder how much the air traffic also has an impact all the planes that have been grounded as they exhaust fumes straight into the air and clouds, and there's defo been a huge reduction in the clouds in the sky are we actually going to see a proper summer now we haven't got the millions of holiday flights in the air? Perhaps that's why we remember proper summers as children because there were less cars and planes in particular clogging the skies with fumes

So ironic if by our own doing of chasing the sun and jumping on endless aeroplanes to Spain that we’ve actually been chasing 1976 Scottish summers away .. loving seeing more wildflowers , wildlife and cleaner rivers
