Does anyone know of any motorbike breakers in Glasgow as looking for bike project for hubby I know there shut at the mo ect any help appreciated..

You might be better looking on gumtree for a project. Problem with breakers are the bikes/vehicles might be classed as scrapped then you cant put them on the road. Insurance salvage auctions (Birnams) I think are one but again you will need to have it inspected one its repaired. I do project stuff on cars and buildings something like that is difficult especially if it's a first time. Best advice I can give is buy a runner and personalize it, take parts off and learn about it and change small stuff. Many projects start well and end up in a box.

Don't know of any breakers left, you would be probably better of searching ebay or gumtree.

There was one but ronnie shut up a few yrs ago.

Theres one out in airdrie but have to agree best try gum tree

yip hubby good with projects as he has done few classic cars major builds ect most old escorts anglia imps ect seen one escort no floor fronf end of car and roof cut of and other welded back on total rebuild well nice when he finished it

Gumtree or Facebook market place is probably your best bet. As above most bikes that end up at a breakers are insurance write off's so very difficult to put back on the road. Buy a basket case from one of the other sites and you have a chance to build something you can use.

My mate has a MK2 Escort Shell for sale.

It's on ebay I think but like I say it's just the shell so would be alot of work unless you have a donor.

I've a couple of bikes in boxes I could part with but they are jap 80s sports bikes.

the last escort Huby done there was hardly any thing left on shell foor out roof of and others welded back in front of car had new inner wings ect his garage full of old escort engines parts ect at the mo looking into yamaha xj 1982 bike on fleabay

Fb marketplace and fb groups can be pretty good always folk looking to part with parts and frames they prefer breaking them themselves

Fallons in coatbridge have vehicles in various states but the prices ain't good as someone said buy a runner and maybe look at transforming into a cafe racer
