The one thing I have realised during this time

Jump to newest

By (user no longer on site) OP

Is that more than ever people spend far too much time worrying about what others are doing.

So much nastiness, bitterness and hatred on the forums and beyond.

No one knows what is going on in someone's life its no one's place to judge.

I hate people sometimes.

What have you realised?

That I’m not as happy in my own company as I previously believed.

That adversity brings out the best and worse in us all.

I’ve also learned that I watch far too many repeats of Come Dine With Me than is healthy.

That we never know what is coming so never listen to people who preach. Have faith in yourself because no one has ever been you before

Thats the media has the power to manipulate news. And the standard of journalism in this country is very poor. Just my opinion. No need to respond.

I have realized that my life is unlivable

for most people

I used to think everyone would like to be off work and be in the house

This is just everyday to me

The only difference is no pubs are open

and there is no sports

That we all need to be a little more understanding and kinder to others. You don't know all that's going on in others lives so don't be so quick to judge. You may end up needing their help

I am finally understanding what life has been like for my daughter and her family. This past year they have had to be social distant as my wee grandson has leukaemia, since beginning of Feb they have been in isolation, I can't complain because there are so many families and people who live like this all the time, so if I can make this small sacrifice to protect him and all the others then so be it.

It's all about adopting a positive mental attitude, and realise we can't change this but we sure as hell can make the most of it and adopt a different mindset

Life isn’t a fairytale and it’s not just all centred on me or you, it’s not about bad things happening but about how you get through the bad times

Human nature has always been thus.

Just as there are those who would give up their seat in a life boat for another, there are those who would fling everyone else off one just to ensure their own survival

That we live in a very very selfish society, hopefully that'll all change once this is over

I always made excuses for the majority of people, too busy coping with life to be considerate of others, have then the benefit of doubt, the fact is they're selfish and actually don't care about their fellow men, it's usually those who are always struggling that reach out to help others and that's becoming even more prominent during this

Sadly that the selfish & inconsiderate will always be that way. I'd have hoped that lockdown would encourage people to dig deep but you've also got to have the awareness and tools to do that.

Sadly that many cannot genuinely do anything selfless without putting it on social media for a pat on the back / 15mins of fame on TV
