So the party of open borders and give away everything for free are refusing to support a bill to give away over half a trillion to workers directly and half a trillion to companies (the things that give the workers jobs to ensure they dont go bust)

And all because

Orange man bad.

The left are deranged

You should post some more of your opinions.

It's good entertainment while we're stuck indoors.

yeah... not quite right... as per normal...

no one is again the 500bn going to workers....

the issue is the 500bn going to companies... as the original proposal was that the president himself would decide who got any of that money.... and it wouldn't be revealed until 6 months AFTER it was given out who had actually received it!!!!!

do you not see how that could be abused in any way shape of form........

the democrats proposal was since the Fed was bankrolling this package, that the Fed be the people who decide who gets the money! and that the money could not be used by companies for "stock buy backs" which basically inflates the value of the companies and gives dividends to shareholderss

This bill is not going to workers or joe bloggs it is going to the corporate co's

And the bill where the money goes 2 trillion dollars ? Is not for public disclosure - repeat not to millions of workers.

Only dumb folk hurl abuse at others, because they do not have a solid grasp

on arguments of fact.

The democrats are trying to get passed in the stimulus bill full pay to unemployed workers for up to 4 months and a guarantee to return to their jobs after this crisis subsides, not to mention they want true over site of the 50 billion or more dollars to be paid out to help businesses.

The democrats want to make sure trump or one of his appointees aren't in control of all this money without checks and balances in place.

The democrats are trying to do what should be done to help people and businesses, not just the wealthy and powerful.

i can answer that bit.... basically they are going to sent out a $1000 check for each adult, $500 for each child... so the phrase you'll hear a lot of "$3000 dollars for a family of 4...."

Awesome... that's maybe even halfway towards paying the deductible that those lucky enough to have insurance will have to pay to deal with this when they get ill!

The US is fucked.

That's not what Trump wants to do though is it?

Two things that have happened under Democrat pressure that the Republicans were resisting. Any issue with either? This is from Fortune.

"The plan would include about $500 billion in loans and assistance for larger companies, as well as states and cities, according to the latest drafts being circulated. But the aid comes with strings attached after pressure from Democrats.

Companies receiving a government loan would be subject to a ban on stock buybacks through the term of the loan plus one additional year. They also would have to limit executive bonuses and take steps to protect workers. The Treasury Department would have to disclose the terms of loans or other aid, and a new Treasury inspector general would oversee the lending program."

"Democrats won language that would bar any business owned by President Donald Trump or his family from getting loans from Treasury. Businesses owned by members of Congress, heads of executive departments and Vice President Mike Pence also would be blocked from receiving aid under the stimulus program."
