madrid on lockdown

madrid has closed all shops and bars apart from supermarkets and chemists.Four hour queues on the motorways leaving Madrid for the costas have they not learnt anything from Italy?

Costa Blanca Spain...

If they are leaving Madrid to come to this Costa then they have got it well wrong.

We are on lock down as well.

Yes i saw they are declaring a state of emergency in spain today.I guess you are in the barcelona region.

No. We are just outside Torrevieja.

Valencia region has pretty much closed everything from midnight last night.

Yes guess the state of emergency started at midnight as the same is happening on the costa del sol now.

mate landed in malaga yesterday morning to stay with freinds of ours at there place for a week.who knows if he gona be able to get back on the plus side at least he staying with mates instead of hotel

I was coming out in April but think I won’t be able to for a while now. I normally fly into Gib and then travel about. Think it will be too much of a Faff.

My Singapore trip is also fucked so looking at Mexico now.

Jet 2 have cancelled all flights to Spain and Canairies,no doubt other airlines will follow,and Ryanair will be the last as they do not give a shit

To be fair to Ryanair they are a different model to Jet 2.

While Jet 2 does have a fair number of flight only passengers its flights to the Costa's tend to be top heavy with package tour holidaymakers.

Ryanair is pretty much 100% flight only and many of their customers will be Spanish (and expats) returning home.

I would fully expect them to follow suit in the next few days but not just yet.
