Why does it seem to be a big taboo by closing its borders it is just cos of the corona virus what is your view if it? I see no problems with it as it is just temporary.

On sunday poland will impose a 14 day quarantine on its citizens returning home in a bid to curb the spread of coronavirus.

"A good decision we should close ours to,even Trump has worked this one out"

He hasn't though, has he? He has left the travel open to the UK and Ireland. Despite the UK having quite a high number of cases.

Some might draw a correlation that there are Trump golf courses in the UK and Ireland.

He hasn't closed the border with Canada. And he is still touting his 'wall' as as a means to stop the virus coming in from the south.

Close all borders , ban all gatherings, ban all sport, ban alcohol, ban leaving the house ( pasta and loo roll scavenging excepted), in fact fuck it, ban everything. I mean 5,000 have died worldwide and 100 in UK. Might even get to above 10,000.

So his experts are not very smart. He should replace them. It seems logical.

Show me your Brexit experts. Where are they now? They probably buried their heads in the sand.

I don't have any medical degree but there are certainly better experts than those whom Boris listens to

Irrespective of which party is in power, most people should realise it’s the same experts advising the Government.

Governments are changing and experts are also together with the government. Experts advising for Boris fucked up the job.

It seems logical. Or maybe not?

So you have no knowledge of anything medical but you know the experts the government are using are crap, ok that's rational

You don't have to be an expert to be able to draw conclusions. Just look at Italy, Spain and France. That would be rational

The situation is very serious and I think this is a very good decision. Not only Poland has made such a decision.

UK should have already closed borders as in airports & channel tunnel, no entry into UK unless straight into 14 days isolation

London should also have been shut down, it has been proven to be the worst place in UK for "supercarriers"

If I had my way, a wall would be getting built right now between the border of Scotland & England

The borders have to stay open to allow trade to continue in essential goods

Borders do not have to be open. Borders can be opened only for trade. Borders should be closed for travelers from other countries. Returning British citizens should be quarantined.

Complete waste of time putting anyone into quarantine its here and isnt going to be stopped by putting a few folk into isolation, it's the vulnerable that need isolating not the rest of us.

But that's exactly what they have done they've quarantined whole families together, several generations live together in one house so they have locked up the elderly with younger members and have caused huge problems, hopefully they are at peak numbers but it's not looking good, what must the young ones be feeling thst they have caused the death of their grandparents by bringing in the infection into the home

This is all right, but at first nobody in Italy took the warnings seriously and thought it was a holyday time.

Several things affected the situation as it is now.

I am afraid that the same situation will be in the UK. The first signals are coming after the Cheltenham Festival.

Derry

The EU announced a 30 shutdown of its external borders a few days ago. The fly in the ointment was the recently departed UK, in particular the border with Ireland. The much looser restrictions in the UK & NI on movement and associating with others was of concern to the EU and Ireland. There was pressure from the EU regarding this directed at the UK and Ireland regarding this. The announcement from BJ this evening will go some way in alleviating the concerns of the EU.
