"Gold is going crazy. Been silver and platinum , so glad I got out of s&s now and into metals This has always intrigued me. How does it work? " Same as anything - invest, trade or hedge. I just find metals more fun and physically owning them is a hobby too.

Have maxed my ISA limit out so may go down the gold route. Not sure I could let someone look after it for me so may start collecting myself. Cheers

"I have just Lost £30k on Royal Dutch Shell as share price has plummeted to £13 hope this cheers some up, such is life." You've only lost it if you cash the shares in. Hold tight, they'll come back.

"It's a properly fucked up world. Bloomberg could literally have lifted every man woman and child in the USA out of poverty - but he pissed more than $500bn away; for absolutely fuck all. Like all billionaires, it's his money, he can spend it how he likes - but given the wealth available in the Western Democracies, you have to wonder how the fuck we're still saddled with poverty and homelessness. It really is shameful. " Where are you pulling that number from. He doesn't have $500bn, nobody has, certainly not in cash

"The homeless will be very vulnerable to this dreaded virus, it shame s this country, people with no home, and their worried it might affect property prices, I hope it brings them crashing down, so ordinary people have a place to live. " Most home owners are ordinary people as you put it.

"Housing is vastly overvalued in the UK, increasing the wealth divide, creating a underclass of lifetime renters, especially hard for young people, if it sends it plummeting great, making it easier for people to own their own home, long overdue. Where is the Boris bounce now? Or trumps House of cards? Death is a great leveller, and doesn't discriminate. " The only problem with your wish is that the whole economy collapses not just housing so everyone is in the same boat as before but all a lot poorer.Once that happens the revenue is not generated so in fact the poor suffer even more.
