"No political party has ever seriously given a fuck about the working man ever. For vote bank, yes. For real, no. Maybe labour did in the 1970s, bit I can’t think of another " Maybe. I wasn't even born at that time. Couldn't really think of any party I know after I started following politics.

"I come from a working class back ground and the Conservatives were very good for my direct family in the 80's enabling my dad to escape the union, go self employed and secure a comfortable life style after only knowing a childhood of struggle and hand me downs. I know others, particuarly up north, may have a different view and I respect that, but they seemed to have his best interests at heart." Escape the union? Why did he have to ‘escape ‘ ?

The 80's are a decade, defined by a conflict between the need to modernise working practices and our viable industries against an unsympathetic approach to creating that change.

Positives are she took Britain out of the dark ages, yes she was ruthless but modern Britain owes a lot o Thatcher. She destroyed the militancy that was destroying this country. She introduced a house ownership and wealth culture. So much more to much to say here. Under Thatcher I became homeless but because of Thatcher I built my life through hard work.I have a lot to thank her for but the good far out weighed the bad.I am old enough to have been been there as a young adult and not litening to the invented negativity being spread about her now.She won three elections

If we had PR, he’s have had a Westminster seat, and ironically he’d have been neutered by the numbers on the benches. Ten or a dozen UKIP MP’s in Westminster would have probably meant no Brexit.

Why don’t you petition your MP to change the system to the one you think is better ?" I’m well aware of the system we have and how it suits the largest parties. What it doesn’t do is present an infallible representation of public opinion. Yet some (including some on here) seem to believe it does.

The person with the most votes won in each constituency wins the seat. That is the system. Those are the rules. Was fundamental in the creation from the EEC of the EC and then the EU. Championed the creation of the EC/EU's Single Market and the expansion of the EU from 12 to 28 countries. How times change! (and people's memory of those times too). While Thatcher may have been harsh and sometimes incentive at least you always knew that she did what she did because she genuinely believed it was best for Britain and not just best for her or her parties political advantage; unlike many in her party now.

Bleat and say whataboutif you add the votes this way or that way is meaningless , pointless and no matter how many times you keep blabbing on it will never ever mean anything. I mean... don’t you understand democracy ?. Yes its quite simple to understand democracy in the UK , stand in an election to get brexit done , more people vote not to get brexit done and the get brexit done side win an 80 seat majority if only eveyone who wanted to remain had voted lib dem then brexit would of been stopped.unlike leavers who got behind one party remainers couldnt agree on who to back so split there vote over several partys.if they had played the game like leavers did then it would of been a different outcome mabey.but its done now so no going back" Why didn’t all the leave voters vote for the Brexit Party or the Tories then??
