Comparing Trump to Jesus

Republican congressman Barry Loudermilk just made a comparison between the Trump impeachment inquiry and the trial of Jesus in the Bible, shockingly arguing Pontius Pilate was more fair to Jesus than Democrats have been to the president.

Seriously?

Well Trump made the comparison with the Salem Witch trails as well. He said they "received more due process" than he is in this impeachment hearing. Which prompted the Mayor of Salem to go on the news and tell him to learn some history.

A bit like when Trump claimed that no other US president has had as rough a time as him... and several people had to point out that quite a few US Presidents have been shot dead.

The guy is a moron.

Although I did see one very amusing take. If both Trump and Pence were taken down by this (long long shot, but hey...) then Pelosi would be 3rd in line to the Presidency. She could then name her VP. She could appoint Clinton as her VP and then resign, in which Clinton would then become President. Just think of the MAGA snowflakes thowing complete hissy fits at that lol

Trump has a huge Christian following/voter base. Be interesting to see how the comparison sits with them.

I’m not religious but I find it odious in many ways.

Obviously, Barry is a complete twunt. Knows his scripture, though. Pilate did try his hardest not to sentence Jesus. The Democrats really don't want to wash their hands.

Shit as things are here, I'm glad I don't live in the USA.

I think it's laughable. Jesus the man without sin but being put to death nonetheless vs a despicable man filled with hatred jumping from sin to sin without even getting his toes wet in the concept of innocence about to get away scot free.

Whether Trump is guilty or not is without question. Even the Republicans are only challenging the process not the accusation.

"Trump has a huge Christian following/voter base. Be interesting to see how the comparison sits with them.

32% of Americans think Trump is a better president than George Washington. A man who could not tell a lie vs a pathalogical liar.

It’s rhetoric to fire up his Christian base.

Trump is not Jesus, in fact he is the opposite.

The Anti Christ some would say.

But Republicans are notoriously Christian. What is the bible belt doing? Got their head in the sand?

How does the American Christian voter justify voting for Trump?

They don't justify it. Not really. They ignore the things they don't want to acknowledge.

I don't know. Perhaps some of the old testament.

Plus revelations from the new, most of these evangelicals do like the idea of the apocalypse.

“When you pray, don’t be like the hypocrites who love to pray publicly on street corners and in the synagogues where everyone can see them. I tell you the truth, that is all the reward they will ever get." - Matthew 6:5

There's a part of the bible Trump can relate to.

Dear Donald

I tried to get into the USA but I couldn't get a visa. My Son is flagged as a left wing Marxist agitator and I'm on a no fly list.

Sorry to hear about your shit but as I say... As you sow, so shall ye reap. As you make your bed so shall ye lie in it.

Dear little Donny Trump,

You've always been a disappointment to me! But, I expected as much, given the disappointment your father and grandfather "were" to me, and your children sure aren't impressing me either! So, given your very unfavorable position in my eyes, due to your total utter contempt of doing anything good in this world, congress "judging" you should be the least of your worries! Just so you know, in "My" court, there is no media, there is no character witnesses, there is no statements given by the accused, there is no jury, because there is no

voting! "My Judgement" is the final word, there is no appeals, no paroles, and no probations!

I'll be seeing you soon, Donny boy!

So Trump has lost it completely. First a a war on dishwashers and toilets. Now not even windmills (what we call wind turbines) are safe.... such an eloquent speaker...

“But they’re manufactured tremendous if you’re into this, tremendous fumes. Gases are spewing into the atmosphere. You know we have a world, right? So the world is tiny compared to the universe. So tremendous, tremendous amount of fumes and everything. You talk about the carbon footprint, fumes are spewing into the air, right? Spewing. Whether it’s in China, Germany, it’s going into the air. It’s our air, their air, everything, right? You see all those [windmills]. They’re all different shades of color,” he said. “They’re like sort of white, but one is like an orange-white. It’s my favorite color, orange.”

Well he can't be all THAT bad if his favourite colour is orange. Now he's got the orange colour lover voters in his corner...
