Apologies to all the merchants of doom and gloom posting on this forum . There is more bad news for you JD Wetherspoons are creating a further 10,000 jobs over the next four years .

Well done to Tim Martin for his tremendous success in a highly competitive business . However we do not really need to put that in writing , the share price performance is proof in itself . He is a man who knows how to adopt to changing times .

Of course business will be booming for wither spoons if we leave the EU , why do you think Tim Martin campaigned to leave ? I just hope by opening up all his new ‘pubs’ it doesn’t ruin trade and cause job losses at neighbouring pubs?

Still, after 3 and a bit years, at least we now have one "benefit" to show for it all, I suppose.

Weatherspoons are notorious for treating their employees like shit, not giving proper contracts, and not paying a living wage.

Tim Martin is famously a brexiteer specifically so that the government can remove more of those pesky EU red tape workers rights.

And this Russian bot wants us to celebrate more people being forced into these sweatshop like environments to serve beers to the masses.

Fabio so are you saying you only use bars hotels shops etc that pay a decent wage ? If so what about these big company’s that don’t pay tax in I’m do you boycot then aswell howay man when you go out on piss you go in the bars that are rammed just like rest of us lol

The Weatherspoons near me is nice, the expansion of the business creating new jobs is not to be belittled but this whole Tim Martin & Brexit issue has to be put into context.

Hardly anyone working in a Weatherspoons pub is going to be able to get on the housing ladder as Weatherspoons only pay around minimum wage while Tim Martin and his shareholders earn millions.

Weatherspoons business model does not require or benefit from being in the EU. Leaving the EU will most probably make Weatherspoons more money, earn Tim Martin more millions, create more minimum wage jobs that in turn earns him even more millions off the backs of minimum wage workers.

And this is held as a gleaming light for a post Brexit UK business model to aspire to while every business and finance body / organisation that has on average much higher paid workers that benefit from EU membership is simply dismissed as irrelevant and they behold Tim Martins vision of the Brexit Bonanza that only him and his shareholders will enjoy.

Wetherspoons aren't a very good employer though. Staff get paid badly and think they are on zero hrs contracts.

If the tories win, this rotten employer will be the standards that other employers may follow
