I remember my parents struggling to keep their business afloat and keep their staff in jobs. There were also 3/4 day working week's, the dead not being buried, so trust me the Tory austerity although far from great is nowhere as bad as it could have been. | |||

Very interesting that you can be so factual about certain things and vague about others, are you a politician? I refer to your last paragraph, at some time- 5, 10, 50, 100 years the collapse of the EU? If that happened do you seriously think that the UK would be exempt? Look at Macro not micro economics! If the banking crisis of a few American banks can cause contagion to the rest of the world for a decade, then the collapse of the EU will be immense! The Greek economy is now doing better than the UK economy, and whilst I agree that the Italian problem is serious, but the current government is not helping! Strange how the new government has released the projections now, after it has been elected, but if it's right, it is going to be more than a "blip"! I can't remember anywhere in the leave campaign anything negative being mentioned about Brexit, and the €39bn was never going to be paid! Unfortunately, you are probably right.
People with little life experience will vote in a hard Left government eventually and then watch as the country is destroyed.
They will then say " Maybe those old people had a point."
My life has been dominated by mostly poor quality politicians.
I'm young enough to have felt the impact of austerity hard. I've seen it destroy communities, I've seen it lead to illness and death where there shouldn't have been any.
Corbyn isn't great, but my young adulthood has been dominated by the Tories and it has done no good for people.
So I'm taking a shot out of desperation, just like a lot of work class voters who voted leave did.
