How do you think the Brexit saga will go?

I think, sadly, Johnson and the Tories will win the election. (Too many people believe blatant lies and will vote for them.) They'll drag the country out of the EU on some version of Brexit.

The subsequent shitstorm and negotiations will last for many years. The UK will lose out a lot. And the Tories will blame everybody else for Brexit fucking everything up.

I think they'll still be blaming others for it all going wrong. Leavers have had 3 years of the shitshow already to change their minds. I get the impression many of them have the same views as before.

I think we will piss the eu off and do very well for the future ...other countries will see this and leave and the eu in it's current guise will crumble into even more debt ..posative outlook from me ...look forward not back ...head down and work hard ....funny this but the harder I worked the richer I become ...work it out all the experts on here

The evidence suggests the Tories will get in with a majority.

They will kick off Brexit proper. Initiating years of turmoil. Currency traders and tax avoiders will make shit loads of money on the falling pound. We will be destroyed in international trade negotiations.

Meanwhile issues like housing, NHS, climate change will be under funded and will all take second place.

Leavers will blame remainers for the clusterfuck.

Basically more of the same that we've had for the past four years.

I'm assuming that the Cons will win the election, Johnson gets what he wants, ie 5 more years in power. Brexit happens, pushed towards a harder version, with years of negotiations, as the UK becomes lamer. The vast majority of those voters will not get a good deal for them but many will sustain the illusion that it's not due to their actions. Division will continue too, with the right wing not caring, as now. Whatever poverty or fallout damage happens won't be of any interest to the hardened right wing extremists, who become more bitter against anyone unlike themselves, enacting more extreme measures that are designed to punish. Universal credit will be rebranded as universal debt, with increased shaming of those who have the nerve to try to get support, due to a state and culture in decline. Ideas mounted of individuals needing to repay their universal debt back, when they start working in the poverty workhouse culture that's created - obviously their debt will be charged at extortionate interest rates. People getting in-work benefits, to top up insecure zero hours type job income, will be forced into this state imposed workhouse slavery system, to repay some of what they have claimed from the state. There are calls for introduction of euthanasia for those who are unable to repay their state debts.

I think that Conservatives will win the election. That BJ won't get a deal in 11 months and we will crash out without a deal. I think that the UK will be a no go area so far as business is concerned except for those businesses who will exploit having a captive market and exploit this by raising their prices and blaming higer costs on Brexit.

Actually I don’t think we will crash out. We will be in discussions with the EU with regards to a trade deal so at that point the brexiteers beloved WTO section 24 rules can kick in.

Unfortunately for the EU to agree to continue talking we will have to maintain the status quo with regards to standards etc, which we will, and this whole circus can carry on .

I think we will get a trade deal,we buy more from the eu than sell to them so why would they not want one. Also this wont be about new trade it will be about trade they are losing. The German car market is losing jobs in the tens of thousands at the moment, every country is going to have to put more into the pot to cover the uk,s loss they would be foolish not to.

Of course there will be a trade deal. No one is seriously denying that.

But also no one is seriously suggesting that the trade deal will even be close to what we have now.

It's a clear position though. If they get in, they have a mandated majority. Like a no deal, like a remain deal, like a cherry picked deal.

The Torys are leaving.

Labour are remain by default. A referendum on Remain v's a closely aligned deal is a remain position.

Libs are remaining.

Brexit are leaving.

well you wont find many on here as most who post are remainers but im optimistic as i said earlier once we are out we can then negotiate other deals which will further concentrate the eu,s mind.Until we leave by law we cannot do that which is why the eu have had the upper hand all this time and made the law in the 1st place.Have faith there is a big world out there.

You really think we'll be in a stronger position to negotiate with countries than the entire EU? Or that we'll somehow get a better deal with the EU than the one we already have? Wow.

True. But the people we spited are the people damaging Britain (think The Guardian, The BBC, most left wing politics). So our intentions were good.

Your assertion that Remain is a good option and Leave is bad one oversimplifies things a little.

In fairness, if Labour get in they have said they'll give a second referendum on Scotland. And not that its been raised much recently but Labour are in favour of Northern Irish independence or at least Irish unity.

I may be wrong but I remember Labour members commenting they would not be adverse or would work with parties about a Welsh Independence vote.

"How do you think the Brexit saga will go?

I think, sadly, Johnson and the Tories will win the election. (Too many people believe blatant lies and will vote for them.) They'll drag the country out of the EU on some version of Brexit.

The subsequent shitstorm and negotiations will last for many years. The UK will lose out a lot. And the Tories will blame everybody else for Brexit fucking everything up."

.

Seems about right I'd say.

Although I've always been of the opinion that brexit won't be as bad as made out.

"I notice v few people think things will go well. Where's all that Brexit optimism that leavers were sold now?well you wont find many on here as most who post are remainers but im optimistic as i said earlier once we are out we can then negotiate other deals which will further concentrate the eu,s mind.Until we leave by law we cannot do that which is why the eu have had the upper hand all this time and made the law in the 1st place.Have faith there is a big world out there. "

Fantasy.

We lose 60 odd deals that we have via the EU, that we have already paid for! - our membership fee paid for good negotiations that worked in our interests. Leavers want us to have to pay again for that effort and assume the magic money tree can provide endless money for something that is avoidable - everyone paying more for goods when our deals are thrown away.

It's laughable that some people try to think that the reason the EU had the upper hand negotiaating after the referendum is anything other than that they are much larger and stronger than us. It's farcical to try to pretend otherwise.

Replicate this to when the UK is trying to negotiate with other big states

The UK is the desperate weaker state. When some people have fantasies, they need to make them much more detailed, providing the specifics of how these fantasy deals get done as well as the exact costs to the UK for every loss being accrued, since the deceit pre-referendum until we complete the same deals that we currently have at the same or better terms

Near Taunton

UK will do very well. Germany in recession and split in Govt. Coalition. France in trouble with unpopular but much needed reforms and nearing recession. Both want and need a good deal with us to shore up problems at home.

As a flexible deregulated economy we will be seen as a gateway to Europe by USA, Asia and the commonwealth. The commercial advantages of Our language, legal system and timezone relative to the whole world will never change

Good times ahead.
