I could see this a mile away, taking the soft option of Andrew Marr, the BBC capitulating.

Well easy ride ahoy! He might as well be interviewed by this morning!

Hell even the loose women would have given him a tougher interview than Marr.

I don’t think the BBC is in bed with the tories, I think the BBC still play by the rules, and the tories are mugging them off.

They are no longer impartial at all. Check the facts nothing is a mistake. We the license payers are paying them. Every leader should be accountable to the same standards. Previous heads of BBC now working within the Conservatives. Scary, scary, scary x

I wouldn't particularly like to do either but I would like to see Johnson being properly scrutinised by Andrew Neil.

Did you listen to Johnson on Nick Ferrari’s show on LBC? I was quite surprised how much of a grilling Ferrari gave him. Johnson just couldn’t answer anything with a straight answer.

The BBC is all about "The Establishment". It always has been. It's only fairly recently it's even pretended to give those in power a hard time.

It annoys the left and the right in equal measure - but it never truly upsets the privileged; because it's full of them.

It wants to maintain its privileged position, ie. kept alive by an enforced tax, so it's not going to rock the boat.

It knows nobody is going to protest for it (despite a lot of world class output) if it's under threat because it isn't vital.

It's not the NHS.

When both left and right complain of bias at BBC, I think they are probably getting it right.

Agree with this. Although the satirical shows are beginitely far more biased against the Conservatives.

Heathrowish

There is a growing belief that the Tories will look again at the BBC charter and licence fee if they win.

Forgetting the satire and comedy bias against the right, there is also a desire to look at the news and current affairs bias.

As an example, in the 3 1/2 years since the referendum, Question Time has never had a majority Leaver panel, rarely has a panel of 50/50 plus one neutral and has a substantial majority of Remainers as panel members.

And....? Its been very obvious at times that the audience has been loaded with pro brexit and tory fans so are you saying its not fair? The bbc is under threat from the tories precisely because it takes the pee out of all politicians and lets face it after 9 years of being fucking hopeless in power if you then have to say its all the fault of the bbc just makes me think you’re a bit crap at your job. The mark of a good leader is a willingness to admit your faults and to learn from your mistakes not to win at all costs.

Just saw Swinson too. The questioning felt less agressive than in Corbyn's interview. But when it came to her voting record, she came across as an absolute hypocrite.

Interestingly, she spent more time rubbishing Corbyn than rubbishing the Tories. I assume because she knows all too well the lib dems were complicit with the Tories in the coalition gov.

Seen it

I still think they should go ahead with the andrew Neil show and just empty chair boris and have andrew Neil go through all boris johnstones lies and rip into their manifesto for 30 mins.

When he asks the PM a question have the canera cut to empty chair and then have andrew Neil carry on.

they don't even have to do that one wide shot with neil and an empty chair would do it...

could you imagine how crippling that could be if it went out the day before the election for example......

Oh I think it would be funny and damning. But loads of people now seem to be ignoring reality when it comes to Johnson. No matter what was said, I think his supporters would support him anyway.

When you are in a winning position there is no point in taking risks the others would be advised to do exactly the same if in his position. He has nothing to gain but plenty to lose so no point, niell,s cred goes up too so everyones a winner.

If he’s scared of him how can we trust him to meet world leaders ?
