"It always takes 10 plus years to fix the mess that the naive deluded labour leave behind memory loss is rife on this site. " Exactly its took all this time to get back on an even keel and people are going to vote for a reckless labour spending spree which will probably take 20 years to sort out next time.Im not worried probably wont be around by then but feel sorry for my kids and grandkids.

"Lol a party is in power for almost a decade, and their record during that time is someone else's fault lol. Congratulations, you just won the internet. ![]() I know it is ridiculous to blame another party from a decade ago...They’d moan like fuck if labour wins and blame conservatives for the next decade.. Let’s be honest If you can’t fix shit in a decade your really shit at your job and it’s time for someone else to have a go . ![]()

"Its took all this time to get back on a even keel" Last time i checked the national debt has doubled. Food banks has increased tenfold, more people are in poverty then ever. So what was the point of austerity and all those cuts for 9 years if the national debt wasnt getting reduced but infact doubled? All that money from the cuts from austerity didnt go towards reducing our debt it went to the torys rich pals.

You're confused National debt is the total amount owed, the deficit is how much more your borrowing every year than bringing in, ie you personally borrow a 100 pounds every year more than you earn (that's your deficit) your national debt is that after 5 years your 500 pounds in debt, you decide to earn a bit more and cut some shopping at home, your now only borrowing 50 pounds a year, five years later you're 750 pounds in debt, got it, borrowing went down debt went up. Practically no budgets were actually cut they just didn't go up in line with inflation so next year's money didn't go as far as last year's, wages were frozen, again nobody got a wage cut, the point was to lower your yearly borrowing so your debt still goes up but slower. In your personal circumstance scenario, if you'd continued spending and borrowing the same your national debt would have been 1000 pounds, instead due to your deficit reduction it was 750 pounds. Maybe you'd prefer total austerity measures over 1 month instead. A severe pain for a very short period?. Governments tend to go for the littlest pain which requires the longer period, like ten years long.

"Comparing government finances to household budgets demonstrates only that you do not understand government finances." Agreed but using personal or household expenditure to explain the difference between debt and deficit is quite useful.

Simples ![]() Here's the thing: The Tories promised to cut both the deficit and the national debt. Theyre borrowing less but having to apportion a greater slice of government expenditure to service a debt which has more than doubled. Austerity hasnt worked but what it has done is ensure that public services are now in tatters. Borrowing in itself is not a bad thing unless it's borrowing which isnt investing in the future (which is what most of the PSBR has signally failed to be used for) Trying to pretend that the UK economy is like a household budget is economically illiterate at best

"It's really hard to understand people who are anti-Tory ![]() Unnecessary austerity Prioritising banks and corporations over people Constant liars (see Boris Johnson as an example) Their voting record on LGBT issues, environment issues, housing issues, austerity etc etc Their attitude to ordinary people (JRM saying it's heartwarming to see so many people using food banks),. (Francesca O'Brien suggesting poor people should be "put down") Shocking record on the environment, see the pledges in the 2017 election and their immediate turn around. The whole Brexit debacle (Cameron kicked it off to get votes) These are just a few examples off the top of my head. You're welcome.

"It's really hard to understand people who are anti-Tory ![]() Hi. To state the blatantly obvious that is why the Conservatives won the last election and are more than likely to win this one. Anyone who cares about the countries future and the sick and elderly will be voting Conservative. We need the taxes generated by a sound economy to pay for services demanded by the less well off in society. Labour's policies would simply destroy the economy. Glad that you speak for the silent majority .

"It's really hard to understand people who are anti-Tory ![]() Why did the Conservatives go from a majority to a minority government in the last election? The majority were not silent apparently. The elderly and sick are paid and cared for by immigrants as natives alone cannot generate the income to. A Conservative government dies not automatically equate to a sound economy. Who said "fuck business"? Does the majority of business want to remain in or leave the EU? As you believe Brexit is economically positive your opinion on Labour economic policy is just as flawed ![]()

"It's really hard to understand people who are anti-Tory ![]() They have been a shambles since 2010, wasting money at the expense of the sick, the poor and the elderly. Nothing about BJs party is advantageous to 95% of the population! Wakes up and smell the bullshiit from BJ ![]()

"It's really hard to understand people who are anti-Tory ![]() Honestly....why do you bother? If you cant see a rudderless ship with an inept buffoon at its helm when its in plain sight than maybe you should get your prescription checked (but please dont do it on the nhs unless you have a condition that justifies it!)
