So they plan to teach every student how awful Britain is and how to hate it and themselves for colonialism which they had nothing to do with, introduce more quotas where people will be appointed by their race, not their ability, and the Treasury would make decisions for the country based on how much they affect ethnic minorities, because, you know, the Treasury makes different rules for different races apparently.

As an ethnic minority from a former colony, I think this anti British witchunt needs to stop. Everything about "woke social justice" culture is deeply deeply flawed, hateful, anti British, anti democratic, anti meritocratic, skews history and it is racist to the core. I literally can't stand it.

Good question. It's because of how they deal with this in schools and universities. I've seen it personally, both when I was at uni, and later as an educator.

There is a focus on the negatives which happened a long time ago, and not the positives. Bit by bit, they add up to give the impression that the UK is a nasty place full of horrible, racist people,even though those crimes were committed by a tiny minority.

This might be tolerable if they also compared it with wrongs by other cultures in a similar era, like the oppression of the Ottoman Empire with the Devishirme and Armenian Genocide, Ghengis Khan and his crimes, the mass executions and famines during the French revolution, Russian revolution and USSR and the Great Leap Forward in China conducted by the left.

However those are completely absent from the classrooms.

There is no balance. It is all one sided. Britain bad, other cultures good. They never mention the positives of what Britain did.

So your personal experience. Which was different to mine. We learned about the first and second world wars.

It's important to teach about the British empire. There simply isn't enough time to teach world history for every country. And seeing as it's in the UK, it makes sense to talk about the British empire, as it played it's part in shaping the country.

1. The injection of grievance culture and identity politics into UK policy. And yes, if you create a department for BAME in the treasury and user that to affect policy, then you are playing identity politics.

2. The institutionalisation of "US" and "THEM" mentality, creating divisions in society which are harmful for social cohesion. Instead of saying "you are all British" and our policies will affect people based on their individual circumstances, they are dividing camps into "white British" and "ethnics" and putting them at loggerheads with each other, despite this being one of the least racist countries on earth. We fought to erase those divisions, and Labour is bringing them back and institutionalising them. It used to be rich vs poor. Now its straight whites vs everyone else. It's just so toxic.

3. The double racism this brings. It associates whites with racism and oppression. And it associates us ethnic minorities with being too poor/stupid/unable to hack it by ourselves and in need of help. The bigotry of lower expectations.

If it was good enough for MLK to live by, then it's good enough for me.

That's my issue. Their arguments are inherently divisive and racist, and are designed by people who want to stoke up trouble and division in order to gain power. Divide and Conquer is their policy. I believe that in one country people should stand unified in a common purpose to improve the lives of everyone in the country. Not divide themselves into groups.

We’ve stopped burning leavers in a wicker man on the beach .As the remainer lefty green council complained it wasn’t carbon neutral and alternative ways of winning the second referendum were needed..
