Nationalisation Of Utility Companies

It appears that two energy firms, SSE and National Grid, along with two water firms, Anglian and Yorkshire, have set up their ownership companies abroad. This is to protect themselves against proposed nationalisation plans by a Labour Government.

Whilst this move wouldn't stop a nationalisation, it would protect shareholders and make it more costly to do.

I believe Labour's intention, is to swop the private equity held for Goverment bonds, which are lower performing. This move would be greatly resisted, especially by the many pension funds that currently hold this stock.

Yes, utility companies that exist only to part their customers from their cash and keep the money flowing upwards to their shareholders.

Did they mention anything about the service?
