Is it really necessary for Boris Johnson, the serving Prime Minister, to call his opponents wankers in a policy speech?

He is using an archaic term - onanism

(No, I'd never heard of it either, so I'm deducing he likes posh insults)

If that kinda foul language appeals to you during an election policy address, one has to wonder just how debased British politics in 2019 can get.

He could be using it in its original biblical form.

Onan was some guy who always "pulled out" on the jam stroke, whilst he was "doing" his sister in law, as he didn't want to father a child by her.

An Onanist is someone who wants the sex but doesn't want to run the risk of fathering a child.

All very funny for immature schoolboys. Now, what was the policy about?

A Government in office for 9 years ought to have a record to talk about. Have you heard a word of it yet?

No, let's keep attention on Mr Corbyn and call him a wanker.

Kinda sums up a country heading down the rabbit hole at a rapid rate of knots.

This one was dug right out of the depths of the non story pit. A word from a drsft that was never uttered and was not a direct insult. Merely saying that labour's Brexit policy and the SNP was about their own self pleasure.

The thing with drafts is they aren't meant for others, they are more of a mind dump to be cleaned up after, which is was.

In conclusion, non story. NEXT!

Totally agree with you.

Next thing you know a manifesto will have "Bollocks to Brexit" put on it....

At least ae don't have a Prime Minister OPENLY making racist comments, or arming the world's worst tyrants.

But, yeah, let's focus on the wanker Corbyn and his scraggly beard. That's much better.

Untrue.

The draft of his speech was issued by Tory Central Office to all the newspapers the day before.

Hence the headlines on the morning he was due to give his speech.

It go the publicity they wanted.

You are correct about him dropping the term from the actual speech.

Sorry, but you do not issue a non-story as a press release.

Another case where Johnson clearly doesn't practice what he preaches.

At least he hasn't threatened to spit in anyone's face yet. To the best of our knowledge.
