Names of Russian donors being printed in ST tomorrow- the ones Boris/ Conservatives attempted to bury.

MI6 considered Johnson a security risk with his close friendship with an oligarch close to Putin, whose ‘parties’ he attended, dating from mayoral days....and now he’s PM.

Interesting timing, pre election.....

It would be racist if we were talking about slavs but as any fool knows country and race are different issues - I believe they do have a few different ethnic groups in Russia - doesn’t stop them from being empire builders does it?

Now there we have it....perhaps you could define your understanding of racism compared to most peoples? You could also explain your definition of what tolerance is while you are about it? If you want to carry on insulting people based on political leanings thats what happens in a democracy but in my understanding of what racism means its more about your colour than your creed, whatever shade that might be.

Donations to a political party above a certain amount - £5000, it might be, I cannot exactly remember - must be declared.

So all these donations from wealthy Russian benefactors that are dismissed as "fake news" . . . well, they have been declared by the Conservative Party, as they are required by law to do.

Nothing fake about it.

Under the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA), parties must record any donation - cash or in kind - that exceeds £500.

The donation must come from UK-based individuals or companies.

Any donation, or series of donations, that exceeds £7,500 in a 12-month period must be reported on a quarterly basis to the Electoral Commission.

During an election, the requirement is for weekly reporting.

The identity of donors and the value of their support is published on the Electoral Commission website.

I recall seeing the "menu" offered by the Conservative Party.

£20k or such like gets you so many invites to Tory dinners a year; £50k gets you a 1-2-1 with the leader.

One of the aims of the Russian government is to destabilise existing power blocs and unions to increase their sphere of influence and control.

They do this by a sustained campaign of misinformation and monetary support. Information has now become weaponised with a constant feed of rogue news and fake stories. Where the truth is seen as lies and lies seen as the truth. So the public don’t no knows the difference between up and down.

The actual truth is often far more complicated than the instant headline of a fake story which is often a lot easier to sell and believe.

By believing and further spreading of this misinformation you are just as an equal puppet of the source as the politicians who take donations from oligarchs.

Donations from oligarchs will come with hidden agendas.

I guess the choice is yours in this information war you can either help to fight it or be a collaborator and support a government where the true source of power in based within the walls of the Kremlin.

Don’t kid yourself that they only want a socialist party in power (the world has moved on from those Cold War stereotypes) they don’t care as long as they can exert control and for them money and information are their biggest weapons.

I’m perfectly sure misinformation sabotage is not limited to Russia. However, this is not misinformation, it’s about truth.

Refusing to release details of a PM’s friendship and behaviour which has opened him up to potential mis-government in all matters, is not acceptable.

I can see that being a fact (distrust of the result), whether or not it was true. There’s a culture of cynicism and distrust of everything, from space to countries to government, politicians, religions, work places down to family. Once started this will never, ever end.
