"So, Royal Mail have torn up the four pillars agreement which was made 2 years ago. Jobs are now at risk, the company is being broken up into separate parts and the universal service obligation to every household in the uk is under threat. The CWU balloted for strike action and returned 97% in favour, with an additional ballot of Parcelforce against being a separate company returning 95% in favour of a strike. Royal Mail refused to enter into negotiations with the union. They would only offer to talk if the threat of a strike was removed. They stated that they would enter talks without preconditions, only on condition of the union calling off any potential strike action during their busiest period of the year. Anyone see the hypocrisy in that? Lol Now that the legally required mediation period is over, during which an election has been called, Royal Mail are now attempting to get the strike blocked by the high court. It stinks of bully boy tactics. They’ve had since May to negotiate with the union. They’ve had legally required mediation to which they did not respond. Call me cynical but I’ll put money on them finding a friendly judge who will force this to be put on hold until the new year! #WeRiseAgain" There you go https://www.theguardian.com/business/2019/nov/08/royal-mail-applies-for-high-court-injunction-in-attempt-to-stop-strike | |||
