P R ? Winners ? Losers ?

If we had pure PR ? Wich parties do you think would gain and lose ?

Thier wouldn’t be constituencies !

You would vote purely for the party so anyone could vote for any party no matter where they lived !

You could even call it Democracy as everyone’s vote would matter !

Wow what a thought !!!

if you wanted pure PR.... look at italy

they have only has 60 ish different governemnts since world war 2.....

pure PR doesn't work because it doesn't produce stable majorities and hands smaller parties power beyond their numbers... (we had a sample of that with how powerful the dup were with 10 votes)

there is more stable versions...

for example.... the scottish parliament elections... where they still have "constituancies" but then pick aditional numbers to represent regions using regional PR

I think it would be the opposite !

DUP a good example I doubt they would be as powerful under true PR ?

Remember it would allow voters in Northern Ireland the choice of All Party’s !
